When I went down to Hot Import Nights, we took one of those Hondas. Um, what a screamer. On the way there we only went 90, but on the way back we took 5th gear to the redline at 9000 rpm and hit 142 mph. Then we went into 6th gear. It dropped to 6200rpm. We only went to 150 though. We did it for about 3 or 4 minutes. Pretty scary flying by other people at twice their speed. If they just happen to decide to move over I would have been toast. Needless to say it was a rush, but I would rather do it when no one else was on the road.
The car was real loud though after 90 MPH. It also has a really crappy stereo system.

Nice..
Let me fix ya sig..
( . Y . ) looks much better :)
( . Y . ) or this..

      Yea Fastson, I like your boobies

Been in an S2000 with a SuperCharger on it.. Very very nice..
Now that was pretty kick ass.
-
SuperCharger? Is that like a turbo or what? IMO that would kinda ruin the whole point of a natural aspired gem of an engine like the 240 hp VTEC in the S2000. That baby can go higher than any other (street) car. It\'s more like a motorcycle engine really, and that\'s what makes it so fantastic. It\'s meant to be loud for crying out loud... that\'s the fun of it.
-
SuperCharger its still NA.. Naturally Aspirated. I just gives instant boost through a series of pullies.. Its truely awesome.
I think it puts the HP of the S2000 up into the 300\'s
330 HP I think.. Not sure, makes the car really bad ass. S2000\'s are slow, yeah they rev high, but they are not that quick. I was not impressed with them at all untill I say one with a super charger. Really makes the car move>>>>>>>>>>>>>>VROOOOOM!!
-
an s/c\'d car is not NA..s/c\'s still provide the motor with boost.
I can however see why you say its still NA.
-
A turbo would be cooler. You would definitly go a lot faster in that.

Yeah the turbo would be cooler but the SuperCharger don\'t have the turbo lage. The SuperCharger has more response also.
Videoholic, WOW 150mph!! Thats very fast! The engine must have sound sweet @9,000rpms. :D
-
The engine sound on those things are horrid..
Sounds like tourtured screams. And honda engines in general sound clunky..
Does sound kinda cool, but like a banshee screaming to escape the depths of hell
-
150mph for 3-4minutes??? BS!!!!!!!!!!!
supercharged car still NA??? umm......NO!!!!!
Bad ass NA engine+boost = even more power. nothing wrong with that
Yes turbos are more efficent than superchargers
S2000s are pretty slow I drove a stock one when I worked at a Honda dealer although they do handle pretty good they are merely 14second ride.

What in the hell are you talking about. We were going between 148-152 for several minutes. We went 7 miles. You figure it out. So suck it.

Where were you able to go that fast for that long?

Depending on your application..intercooler, the lag can be forever or barely noticable. S/c\'s only have more response down lowmore response down low...cruz at 4k rpm on a turbo\'d car..mash it down..now that is response!

Wow, videoholic! I pray (for the car & the *next* owner\'s sake) that babee you cruised in wasn\'t brand-spankin\' new?! or at least had over 600 miles on the odo...they aren\'t meant to be VTEC\'d until a break-in period of 600miles... Wicked fun ride tho, huh?!!!!:D
Samwise, I met up with 8 other S2Ks this past Sunday and road up through some mountains in MD...one guy, Randy, had a supercharger on his. Smooooooookin\'!!! He rode behind me much of the ride...he\'d fall back (while I was clickin\' over 100mph in 40mph-zones and would just stomp it -- and fill up my rearview mirror in the snap of a finger). Fast $h!t!
Nate...BS???!!!...whatever:rolleyes: I\'m here ta tell ya, that ain\'t nothing but a thang for this car (stock)...a real screamer. Don\'t believe it if you don\'t want to, and I ain\'t gonna get into flames here... but in my Sunday drive, I seldom fell below 100mph and yet seldom even got into 6th gear either.... videoholic said, "So suck it"... ...okay, mebe a small flame...;)

I\'ll get back to the rest of your post later, but he has 12000 miles on it. He bought his in Miami and he was also told about the 600 mile rule for the VTech. He said it was the worst driving down aligator alley, which is perfectly straight.

Okay sorry for the NA supercharger comment, I was wrong, I know what I am talking about I just did not word it right..
Now do you want to debate Superchargers vs turbos?? I would love to..
More efficient is such a general statement and basically does not mean anything. ARe you trying to say in laymens terms that trubos are better??
Let have an analogy shall we. Okay a twin turbo car producing mass amounts of bost, running at about 255 bhp. Now you got a car same engine, producing bost via a supercharger, which yes is parasitic on the engine, but producing 290 bhp 2 vs 1..!! Hrmmmmmmmmm But thats just one example, there are more, but there are also good and bad cases for both.....

I just have to say something about "honda engines sounding clunky." HUH???? What are you comparing them to? Certainly not Audi / VW engines, I hope.
BTW show me another 240hp 4 cylinder that\'s quieter...
-
screw quiet its all about wwssshhhhhhHHHHHH PPPSSHHHHHOOW.....*most* will know what that means :D

Just thought I\'d add another\'s computational effort (at least as related specifically to the S2K)...:
...S/C: If you want to have a lot of fun in the twisties but still go faster than stock, choose the supercharger. The power delivery is relatively smooth, and the torque/hp curves are similar to stock, although naturally bumped way up (with a peak around 300hp to the wheels). 1/4 mile times (est) at best high 12s, low 13s (someone correct me if I\'m wrong?).
T/C: If you want to drag your car and have fun in the straight lines, consider the speedcraft turbo (or another turbo application coming out soon, by mdigrappa I believe). The area under the curve is quite a bit bigger than the s/c, and the peak is a little higher (334 to the wheels for me). Unless you are a very skilled autocross driver, your times will most likely be quite a bit worse at first, if you choose to track this car. Power delivery comes on quickly at about 4k/5k rpms. If you are on the throttle 100% in a straight line, it\'s very smooth, but if you are doing a lot of turning and gear shifting, you may have a tough time easing into turns at high throttle. 1/4 mile times (est) at best low 12s, perhaps high 11s ... - thanks to ChrisD on s2ki.com

Alligator Alley between Naples and Fort Lauderdale. It\'s 150 miles of perfectly straight nothingness through the everglades. 4 lane split highway.
It was very scarey going by the people though. Only passed 2 people. We waited a long time to have the opportunity to make a run.

Could you be more specific video...Id like to check this alligator alley out when we move to FL in a month or so.

It\'s the lower part of I-75. Just look at a map. Look at Ft. Lauderdale. Go West. You will only see one road crossing the state there.
They air patrol though with planes, so you have to watch it.

Just the way the engine and gear box sound.. Sounds clunky to me always have, notchy, I don\'t know how you want me to word it. Subarus sound worse so don\'t worry..
Im not saying its bad, just my interpritation.
