this game kicks the alpha and omega ass!
man this game is sick, im a dwarven warrior or whatever and in the crypt, this game has 0 jagges period, the water is just beautiful to watch and so is the rest of the enviorment.
has anyone else gotten this game yet? i\'ll post a review when i get farther into the game
-
Just played the demo last night for awhile
enviroments are cool but I\'m no fan of overhead cameras that can\'t zoom
I\'ll be picking up my copy probably tommorrow since Software etc never called me today to tell me my pre-paid copy is in
-
IGN says you can control the camera ,zooming is possible...
-
I have only been hearing great things about this game...and many reviews to back it up(9\'s and up). I\'ll prolly be getting this game very soon.

Well then its different from the demo cause you can only move in a circle from the smae height above the action
its not bad but I still prefer a more behind the character camera that controls
The Summoner had this but it also didn\'t come close to living up to the technical brilliance in BG: DA. But I still enjoyed being able to place the camera almost anywhere I wanted too

to me, i think that camera it the basis of the game if you have a bad camera or bad camera angles thenthe game would get frustrating and old quick, i have played many games with the worst camera angles and might as well thrown the game away, its that important

My brother and I played it for like 4 hours last night. I was the girl (mage), and he was the tall man. This game is very cool -- possibly even my game of the year. The graphics are beautiful with no aliasing and great lighting. The lip syncing(sp?) is done pretty well too. I can\'t wait for my brother to get home so we can play some more.

My son and I started a two player game last night and we really enjoyed it. However, I don\'t believe that you can zoom in the camera. At least I have not been able to do it yet. The camera can be "circled" in certain areas, but you cannot zoom. Once you "circle" the camera, it stays in that position until you "circle" some more or alternately, you can reset the camera by pressing a button. Overall it works pretty well. Some of the enemies can be quite large, this might be why they decided to set the camera up so high. Also, in two player mode, in order for any single player to move in an area outside of the camera view, both players must move together. The high camera angle helps in this instance since both players must be on the same screen at all times. If the camera was not set up so high, the screen would get "crowded" for two player games. I would highly recommend this game, especially for the two player capability. BTW, we were playing the actual game, not the demo.

My God... what can I do?? DMC, J&D, BG, WF,... and the money??
-
I played BG: DA for 1.5 hours last night and 4.5 this morning.
I\'m not a huge fan of the over head camera but this game would\'t work with a behind character camera cause baddies attack from behind and if they do they cause more damage
This game is a joy to play. I\'m loving it and I really wanted to call in sick today so I could stay home and play it.
I\'m such a huge D+D fan and to see versions of D+D on the PS2 is a pleasure
I would like to see a PC styled multiple character D+D RPG on the PS2 someday as well.
I\'m the elven mage chick, and I have to admit for a bunch of polygons she sure is hot when you take off all her armor and let her run around in her undies.
Can\'t wait to continue on

I can\'t wait till Christmas when I get this game... Mark my words... I will be ranting about it on the 25th..:D
-
well im already in act 2, I just can\'t help not playing this game! Man just wait till yuo guy get in the mountains.... all you will say is WOWZA! or just wow, but wow none the less lol
i got jak and daxter yesterday so i can now switch between the 2 but i decided to beat baldurs gate first so i can focus on J&D afterward :) ill probably beat it tomorrow lol

The camera never even occured to me. I\'ve been to intrested in killing the big furry thing running in my direction and where to put my pionts.
-

The camera sticks in my head due to my experience with the Summoner and the city of Lanelle. It would of been tremendously easier to get around if you could see the Horizon
in BG: DA it would be nice to be able to zoom becuase close ups of this wonderfully detailed game would go along way in making the game that much more enjoyable
and I don\'t think a behind the head camera would work in this game cause enemies get behind you do to the sheer amount of them but a quick 1st person view mode would have been a nice touch as well
never the less I\'m sitting here just waiting for the time to pass so I can race home and start jammin again

Boy its gonna be a PS2 christmas for me, I\'m getting so many games and other PS2 stuff
-
Yeah Baulders Gate looks sweet. I\'ve been waiting for this game for ages. I just wanted to know... Is it RPG like. According to IGN a lof of the PC RGPness has been ripped from the game leaving you with a mega fun action game. I don\'t mind that but I wanted the RPGness of baulders gate not just a simple action game.
Anyone like to comment ?
-
Can anyone tell me how many types of magic are there in the game? It seems that there are only 3 of them in the game.

I bought this game but haven\'t had the chance to play it.
However I can tell you that inside the box smells like corn chips!!!!
....no really, it did. Maybe the guy who packaged it was eating cornchips and the "air-tight wrap" sealed in the smell.

I agree with you, we should all test it.
I mean, without tests we wouldn\'t have results right.
So the best way to get results is a test.
Did I pass????

well jus when he said test, im not sure if he was speaking of the gam or just tesing his sig. either way it\'s spam!

I knew that. I was just being sarcastic (and using his spam as an excuse to post mine)
-
I can under stand that DD.
I won\'t say this game is perfect. I remmember early reports that when you play two player that the camera would move out so as to not limit players to such a small screen. That has been removed or just never put in. I\'ve yet to do this so I don\'t really know if it can be over looked.

Yes this is a good idea
and go get the game. Snowblind is contemplating a sequel and they read the Black Isle message boards so you can go there and let give them ideas on how to improve upon this series

Yeah I really enjoyed that long explanation on why he feels this way
BG: Da on the PS2 is nothing at all like the PC games
-
Is the PC getting BG: Da in the same format as was done on the PS2? Or will they get the more traditional Baulders gate game in its place?
-
BG: DA is a PS2 exclusive
BG series on the PC is a few games deep already and much more traditional
a few of those games have won big awards for being great PC RPG\'s
and if I had a PC worthy of playing games on I\'d be all over them, but sadly I\'m not willing to sink more money into my PC just to support my gaming habit
