I mean I just went to the arcade the other day I saw vitura fighter 4 and tekken 4 next to each other and played them for awhile. I realize with both games I wasn\'t blown away with the graphics, they just looked average I mean sure both games look better than your average game today, but after witnessing the beauty of doa3\'s graphics. They just look............I don\'t know the textures looked plain and doa3 beats both of them bad. IMO vf4 barely looks better than tekken 4 at some points I thought tekken 4 even looked better. I guess this after experince the power of the xbox everything else looks kinda dated. Don\'t get me wrong vf4 and tekken 4 are both awesome looking games, but I guess they don\'t measure up to doa3 graphics. Does anyone agree with me or not?:fro: :fro: :thepimp:

I haven\'t seen any Xbox games running on a good TV
and I don\'t goto arcades so I can\'t comment
but its safe to say that the Xbox hardware will just kick the snot out of hte competition in thegraphic department
I did see some new Xbox games running on the Xbox Kiosk today and even on the shi tty TV they offer they looked quite impressive

Um, no I don\'t agree with you, having seen all 3 in motion. DOA3 doesn\'t impress me one bit. I\'ll take the DEEP VF4 gameplay over the DOA2 gameplay....errr....Doa3 gameplay(actually i was right, its DOA2 on steriods, just ask Ryu). VF4\'s textures look bland? Wait til you see the game running on PS2 hardware to judge it, because honestly Tekken 4 looks like **** compared to VF4. lol, alot of my friends have been saying that DOA3 looks damn dull and boring.....Guess its true.

Trust me ddaryl once you see doa3 on your T.V. you will be blown away. Graphically its unmatched the textures, image quaitly, polygon count, the stages, and the animation. I really don\'t go to the arcade that much either, but I happen to see vf4 and tekken 4 at my arcade. Well, once you see them you will see that xbox is a graphically jump over the two games.:fro:

Have I seen all 3 in motion? what? What? What? What? What? What? what? what? what? I played them all for serveral hours. VF4 textures does not compare to doa3 sorry. Nor does tekken 4. I never said nothing about the gameplay they all play great to me. DOA3 graphically is unmatched just look at vf4 and tekken 4 and you will see the differents. Don\'t get me wrong vf4 and tekken 4 do you look but there not near the level of doa3. Thats just my opinion.

I\'ll never see DOA3 played on my TV
I\'m not a fighter fan so I won\'t buy it and I don\'t have an Xbox yet

Well maybe one day you can go up to your EB and see if its in koisk and just witness the beauty graphics. ddaryl you at least have to see this game running on a TV to see the full beauty.

Yeah, I agree. There isn\'t a comparison really. TeamNinja did an incredible job with the graphics. And I love it how a conversation about graphics gets directly changed to gameplay, from someone who has never played it. Typical I guess.

Actually, from all sources it seems that the PS2 version is very close, but not exactly arcade quality--so we won\'t see a big jump in texture quality. At least not large enough to surpass DAO3.
I really like VF4--it\'s feels like home being back in a VF2-esque style.

You noticed that too? How quick they jump to the gameplay topic. I stated the graphics in doa3 is above all other 3d fighters out now.

IMO, I think Street Fighter II is still the best fighter i\'ve ever played. It had the coolest characters and moves. I remember once playing that game for several hours in one sitting. I think fighters nowadays suck and arent worth $50 no matter how pretty they look.

Umm excuse me cosmo he is talking about the graphics not how deep it is. This was about graphics. And I don\'t believe any of what your saying in your post. Just tell the freaking truth you have not played doa3. Your entire post sounds like your judging screens you seen of every game on gamespot or somewhere. Which you probably are. For you to say what your saying about doa3 only proves that you have not played the game and you probably have not played the others.
The game just looks awesome. It is the best look fighter on any console. Every agree\'s it looks awesome. And when you look at others fighters they do look dated.

Why do we keep having threads about how " X-box\'s graphics are way better than ps2"s"?. Of course they are better, why wouldnt they be? If Microsoft had an extra year to create it why would they release some thing that is less or equal in power to the ps2 ? That would just be plain stupid.
please stop starting these kind of threads, i have no problem admitting that the X-box has better graphics than the ps2, its about the games.

Nope, fraid not, so STOP assuming something that you don\'t know. Fastson is right, the people in DOA3 look like friggin plastic people, and FARRRR from real. I prefer SC\'s graphics to DOA3. So.............doa3 looks like crap to you? You have got to be kidding right? So name a fighting game that looks better. Yes SC is a beauty as well, but compare the gemorty doa3 is pushing compared to SC, the backgrounds, the polygon count. DOA3 out does SC graphically as well. To me doa3 by far the best looking 3d fighter ever.........

IMO, it looks crap to me man, Not trying to force anything upon you. Thats just me. I don\'t care for the DOA Series, since I\'m a pretty much big time ANTI DOA person. DOA3 is your type of game, graphically, well, not a graphics whore, but, I find the game to not be a huge leap over the PS2 counter part of DO2 hardcore. I\'m talking character models here, the levels are huge and lush, but where is the giant leap in visuals when it comes to the character models?? Oh well, I\'ll leave this where its at, because your entitled to like you games, as I am mine.

There is a giant leap in terms of character models--I too doubt you have played the game. The textures on the clothing, the way they move, the joints of the fighters, the hair, the eyes, the smooth edges--it\'s all a huge upgrade.
You are closeminded and an ass I must say--you swear and cuss and name call and get way to defensive for anyone to take you seriously. Anti-DOA? Anti-xbox. Console fanboy--it\'s all the same thing when talking about you.
And plastic my ass--they look no more plastic than any FF character (FMV or otherwise), VF or T4--you might as well say the xbox is 20 lbs and bigger than my television for all the shallow criticisms cast at this game. Comments like that are an easy way to spot fanboys.
If you don\'t like the game itself that\'s fine (even though I don\'t understand that either, but please let\'s not have that debate again--I said please), but to complain about the graphics is ridiculous.

The graphics aren\'t that much of a leap... I really don\'t see much of a difference from DOA2... Only larger levels.. And ummmm.. If you like to sit 2 feet from your TV then you can notice the "wonderful texture difference".....

I used to think the same thing. I once thought DOA3 looked a tad better than DOA2. Even when I first *played* DOA3 I thought the same.
Though I can easily say now that you are all wrong. DOA3 is leaps above DOA2 in every possible way. The lighting, the flesh of the characters, the detail in character clothings, etc. In fact, I asked a pal of mine to bring DOA2: Hardcore to check it out again, and it looked very much dated compared to DOA3. Don\'t like the game? Fine. But it looks better than DOA2 in every possible way.

That explains your thoughts right there. And if you think SC looks better than DOA3, you have problems acknowledging superior graphics. Hell, DOA2 was leaps above SC. In every way possible except textures. SC still looks awesome, but it does show its age, (and the fact that it was a system 12 port.)
Open up your eyes guys, DOA3 does look good. Now I can\'t compare it to VF4 cause I haven\'t seen it yet in person.

Think about this though... You know how PS2 is a learning machine and developers are learning ways to make games look much better.... Now if they were to remake DOA2... And spent less time on Xbox... Think about it... It would look a little better...
And I don\'t get it why people look this close in a game at graphics...

I\'ve never seen DOA3 actually being played. Does the scenery bounce around every time a player gets tagged like it does in the demo? I also noticed in the demo the character detail level drops considerably during the action, not just blurring but texture and lighting effects actually go away then come back when the background quits shaking and the models aren\'t moving so much. Does it do the same thing when you play or are you too busy playing to notice? I\'m probably being too critical, maybe all fighting games play that way to some degree but it seems kind of a cheap trick to me. Just asking, the last fighter I played was Tekken3 and it\'s been a few years.
Also for the sake of the argument; the last arcade game I looked carefully at was Crazi Taxi and it seemed washed out and bland compared to seeing it running on a DC and a regular crap TV. In fact most arcade games I\'ve seen seem kind of washed out. Do any of you suppose that might have something to do with rastalant\'s impressions of VF4?

That\'s fine. I\'m sure if they re-make DOA2 on the PS2 it would look even better. But the point is that DOA3 looks much better than DOA2 right now.

About that bouncing thing, I really have no idea what you\'re taking about. So I guess the answer is no. The game doesn\'t have those problems. :) I\'ve never seen the textures blur and come back, nor have I seen the lighting pop in and out.

Sorry but I had doa2hardcore and doa3 side by side. Doa3 model look a ton better more detail, better textures, higher polygon count. I know thats your opinion but doa3 beat doa2hardcore graphics pretty bad.:fro:

Thanks, :cool: Must be the demos then, either that or my xbox stink eye is working overtime :D I\'ve seen two different demos and noticed both effects in each one. At least now I know those kiosks are giving an even worse impression than I had originally thought. Truly, the characters models I\'ve been seeing also seemed only a slight step above DOA2 to me, so from now on I\'m going to keep my mouth shut about DOA3 until I can see the actual game in play on a decent TV. It\'s only fair
I have no shame in saying I look forward to one day playing a few rounds of either version. Plastic or not, those chicks are HOT!

People should check out Xbox running on high definition flat screens for the full experience.

why do people always compare DOA2 and DOA3
PS2 version of DOA2 HC was nothing more then a DC port - you dont make graphics better on ports really - so of course its not gonna look much better the game was already old as it was
so you are comparing a game that is brand new to one that is on outdated hardware from a year and a half ago
i know that DOA3 is nice looking, way ahead of the rest no i dont agree - but it is nice
the backgrounds are very beautiful but the characters are lacking IMO when compared to games such as VF4 and some Tekken 4 characters but Tekken Sadly is not a graphics whore of a game this time around
What im trying to say is that Team Ninja milks this franchise as much as Capcom does Street Fighter- how many DOA2 versions were there lol - they remind me a lot of the same too
add a few characters and new levels and release as a new game or a new update
pretty lame if you ask me
i have played all of the games and they are fun but we are talking about graphics and if you ask me DOA3 is not leaps ahead of the competition - thats my opinion of course :)

You can talk and talk and talk but I have never, and the Emperor means never, seen a game, any game for that matter, where a character\'s head will stay in one position and their eyeballs track the movements of their opponent.

Is that all you could do is resort to name calling. Jeesh just admit you haven\'t played the game. I mean everyone knows it is the best looking game to come out to date. well yea IMO i dont think DOA3 is the most impressive graphics to date
that could just be me but for its genre it is but i can see a lot better and technically harder games being made on the Xbox and PS2 already
i just dont think that DOA3 deserves all this attention when its nothing but a rehashed game with two new people and better graphics
i know fighting games dont change much from one sequel to the next but they chage more then that at least
anyway jst saying its nice but stunning, no i dont think see myself

Exactly once you see doa3 on your TV screen its unmatched by anyother game. Yes doa3 beats doa2hardcore graphics badly.

Nah............thats cool no hard feeling. I don\'t worship xbox graphics I just think there the best on the market so far. Its a great system so is ps2 with all its AAA titles. Nah........its cool.

Must I fight you over this again? DOA3 can be made on PS2 also! Only little things would be downgraded... But nothing that would make is look horrible... It would look almost identical... Only idiots look at these differences... The game is almost the same as DOA2:H! Quit crying..i just dont think that DOA3 deserves all this attention when its nothing but a rehashed game with two new people and better graphics

sorry about the langauge but its the newest and most powerful i would be mad if it didnt pump out the awesome graphics - i guess just looking at the difference computers can do in a year i expected the Xbox to do the same - i am not disappointed with the xbox - it has some great games - just not all are as great as people think - same goes for PS2 and GC and every other console
