I just heard in the news today that there are now more cell phones than regular phones here in Denmark. The number is actually ~80% of the total population. Damn we Scandinavians are crazy with celluar phones. :)
PS. I\'m looking into getting a new phone. I have an old Bosch (piece of crap) and I\'ve been looking at a couple of phones. Primarily Ericsson T39, Nokia 5510, Nokia 8850 (kinda old now), Siemens S35/M45/S45 and SL45. The SL45 has an integrated mp3 player (pretty kewl) but it still has a visible antenna. The S45 doesn\'t have the mp3 player, but it does have an integrated antenna. What to do, what to do... :(

the WISE man
Damn, isn\'t that the over-use of the wise word? :D
Anyways - we have had more cell-phones than regular phones here in Finland for few years already. Actually over 90% of 15 year olds have a cell-phone, some have two.
Crazy life, isn\'t it?
And I have gotten into the trend also...

I suggest you also check out the Nokia 6510 and the 5210 that will be arriving soon.
-
Dont get an ericson they are a piece o$h!t
-
Ericssons are great cellphones
-
I think the last one of Nokia is a great cell phone: radio, mp3, 5 games, full keyboard, big screen, nice design, wap,... it\'s great.

exactly ;)
But really, soon most home phones will be replaced by cell phones, only if they can come up with a way for congested areas to work flawlessly. At UGA during home football games I can never use my cell. But otherwise it works great. . . I use it 10X more than my dorm phone.

If your in college hell yea, use a cell phone, cant miss any of them frat parties.

I go to the bars downtown, did I say bars, I meant the strip club

Seriously, it\'s just because you yanks have such crappy phones. You don\'t even have SMS (small messaging service) where you can send text messages (or a small email, if you want to call it that) to other people. Well, I think one company has started some tests with it \'over there\'. :)
nO-One, I\'m not getting me one of those new Nokia\'s. Too expensive. And I\'m not all that crazy about Nokia anymore because everyone and his dog has one. I\'m looking into alternative choices instead... I think I\'ll be getting me a Siemens SL45 - I found a pretty good deal on it. But let\'s wait and see shall we. ;)
-
Siemens actually is quite good cell-phone producer, and its cellphones are quite strong ( meaning that they last long, even in bad environment - way better than Nokia\'s, or so I have heard ). Only that the games they have SUCK :)
I myself have Nokia 3330, and - as it is quite weak cellphone - I\'m fine with it. I survive with it. I\'m better with it than without it. And it has some great games! Bumper ( which is a flipper-game ), Snake II ( a great worm-game ) and Space Impact ( r-type like scrolling shooter ) to name a few.
finland is the promised land of cell-phones ( and low amount of brain-cells ) - in here everyone; meaning EVERY LIVING CREATURE that can make a sound, has a cell-phone.

Uh, we\'ve had messaging for a long time now. We\'ve got these cool commercials of these two monkeys messaging each other. But we\'ve had pager messaging for a long while before that.

SMS is tad bit different (I\'ve heard that messages can take some time to reach their destination, although I\'m not sure just something I heard), even so SMS here in Europe is getting upgraded, starting with the 7650 which features MMS (Multimedia Messaging service) where you can insert pictures and sounds into the message.
The fact is, mobile phones over here are wayyy more advanced than those you have over there.
Samwise: The Siemens SL45 is an excellent phone, it would be cool if they\'d have included a color display like they did on the S25, but otherwise that thing is packed with features. Siemens makes some excellent phones, and they are on my top 3 list of favourite phone makers along with Nokia and Ericsson.

Aye, I hear ya nO-One. :)
Well it seems I\'ll be the proud owner of an SL45... w00t! :D
I can\'t afford a new one, but I found a sweet deal on the \'net... a girl who won a SL45 in a competition and was selling it on QXL - almost unused. She already had a Nokia 8850 and just wanted to make some X-mas bucks by selling the SL45. So now I\'ve won the auction and payed like 30% of the retail price. :D :D
