Title: Off-Topic post counts
Post by: Bozco on December 08, 2001, 09:17:47 AM
I don\'t think that solves very much, people that post intelligently in there won\'t get the post count and this will only promote spamming because they think its alright now, it will cause the off-topic forum to take a nose dive

I agree, but this might serve as an alternative to what I\'m sure is constant policing in the O.T. for spamming.

I think it\'s fair. Just to stop the spamming for a while.

I don\'t really care too much. But I can see why people wouldn\'t like not getting their post count accurate.

Maybe put the lock on for a few days to make things settle down, and then pull it off.

Just wondering but

WHY DO PEOPLE CARE SO MUCH ABOUT POST COUNT???

I don\'t.  But I\'m really wondering why others put so much stock into it.  You think people with higher post counts deserve more respect or something?

"It don\'t make no sense."

Uh, yeah.

If I saw a member called, "Gay Pride John" with 8303 posts, and "I will kill you Steve" with only 4 posts. I would have more respect for the queer.

Yeah, that was really dumb. Kick me.

Yes and No, I think people with higher post counts get more respect because people know what they post like and know them better so in turn they get more respect, its not really about the post count

take post counts from me anyday I don\'t care anyway.  It will be cool if mine stays at Zero...hehe

I\'m postin\' because I\'m bored and wanna actually add something to the conversation, not because I wanna add up my post counts

I like having the post counts. It shows how dedicated I am to the forums and newbies will respect me :D
