Title: Widescreen Games Support
Post by: scarydonkey on December 11, 2001, 05:16:52 AM
I\'ve just bought a widescreen TV and GT-3 supports 16:9 and looks AWESOME. But not all games seem to.  Does anyone have a list of games that support 16:9 or know where I can find one?
WWF Smackdown looks **** in widescreen mode, and I don\'t want to screw up my TV by using 4:3 mode too much.

What do people know about Widescreen TV\'s and PS/2s then? Incidentally, I have a PAL Ps/2, being a Brit.
Cheers!

Since the games and systems are now coming out, how about we tally which games have which pseudo-HD capabilities?  Don\'t speak unless you know for sure!  That is, the game has been tested by yourself on HD-capable equipment!  The magazines and websites can be wrong!

Notes:
- Xbox requires all games to support 480p to pass QC
- Most Dreamcast games support 480p
- Dreamcast, N64, and PSX games will only be listed if they support 16:9

Good post, THX.  This is useful.  If any of you are not aware, SSX: Tricky on the PS2 really has three modes.

1.  Standard 4:3
2.  Widescreen letterboxed (needs to be zoomed if your display supports that)
3.  Genuine 16:9 anamorphic

Now I just need to figure out how to get 480p on my Dreamcast... I guess I could read the manual.  :(

Cored you need the VGA box.  If you want progressive on your television as well as your monitor, you have to get a VGA --> component converter.  Or just have a set that has a VGA input (like the Mitsu Platinum Plus Series).

but you prolly knew all that after I said you needed to get a vga box. :)
