It says on the site (http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20011211/scei.htm) that PS2 will be online ready in April in Japan.

NICE! I like the CD Player browser. Just wish they had a few pictures of their INTERNET browser up there too. I just hope to god it\'s better than PlanetWeb...
They are still goin with Netscape for their browser right??

i wish it would cone out in the us, because then we could play TS2 online...i would own everyone on that game i LOVE IT!

Ladies and Gentlemen. All info residing in our freinds topic doesn\'t matter. That is an EARLY example of the Japanese PS2 browser. Sony has partnered with AOL/TimeWarner and they are going to use a Revised NetScape Browser specialized to work with the PS2.

Pics are cool, gives us somewhat of an idea. Isn\'t Sony running a little bit behind schedule, with the broadband plan. I read not to long ago that some company was releasing a 56k modem for PS2 In Japan in February(I could be mistaken about the release date)
All I know is I\'m not intrested in 56k for PS2 I\'ll wait for broadband, I can still remember my horrible experiences with Dreamcast. And I\'m just not willing to buy a 56k modem even if it does comes out before broadband in the U.S.

Hard to beleive i know, but the UK is the only country that they are testing it in at the moment apparently. Yay!

I doubt broadband will not be up to full steam until 2004. So, the timing is about right. $40 a month for DSL? And that\'s the cheap price! When it comes down to less than $25 a month, then it\'ll be more popular here in the US.
Right now, I\'m satisfide with 56k at home. Here at work, we got T3. :D

Phil Harrison (SCEE) has talked about it in OPS2M :D
I hope we get it next! (He mentioned Sweden in a article, on how far we have come in the broadband department..)

Sony has similar announcements planned for markets such as North America and Europe for early next year. At E3 this year, the company announced partnerships with AOL Time Warner, Macromedia, Real Networks, and Cisco to offer various applications for its PS2 network service. Sony has shipped 23 million PlayStation 2 units worldwide to date and recently announced that it has sold more than 6 million units of the console in North America alone.
Well according to this here, it says on-line will be availible in North America in 2002. I hope this is true.

Ofcourse Broadband is going to be in the US by 2002. If not then what am I going to use my Broadband adapter and Hard Drive for?
