Ok, I got the game today!! Me and 2 friends went straight home after work and started the co-op. The two friends of mine are both huge Diablo II fans so they did not have so high thoughts about it. But Damn is this game great or what? The PAL version have higher resolution than the NTSC version. And if you thought the NTSC version is beutiful, well the PAL version is bloody perfect!! I can´t find one singel thing to complain about the graphics, not one singel thing!! And let me say that I have very high demands when it comes to graphics. We have played it 4 hours straigth on hard co-op. We have some serious problem with a boss now but we are working on it. The sound is great. In dolby surrond the game is so beutiful.
I am totally blown away by this game. This is the best action RPG ever IMO!!
I havent seen the NTSC version but I think that the high resolution in the PAL version makes this game so damn beutiful. No slowdowns whatsoever.
This is a true next generation game. It is a very big step from everything else we have seen ever on any platform.
The graphics is a perfect 10, no doubt about it, gameplay is damn close to 10 and the sound is also a perfect 10. Thank you very much snowblind!!
Get this game , you wont regret it!!

Damn Bossie.. You got me all hyped now.. And I must wait till xmas :(
I want this now.. SOUNDS amazing!!

Hmmm higher resolution in PAL mode
I find that peculiar since BG: DA looked gorgeous here in the States
but let me know how you feel about the game somewhere inthe middle of Act III
-
NTSC: 640x480
PAL: 640x512
:)

Bah I might have to get this as well as Silent Hill 2. LOL!

I read your rewiew over at the blackisle forum. I hope I will not feel the same as you. We have only played it on hard co-op and played for over 6 hours on the save game and we are still in act one. I really like this game.

how many acts are there? After reading DDaryl\'s impressions I was having doubts, so I decided to wait for WipeOut Fusion. I think my biggest doubt is the skill-level involved. Does it whear off quickly or is it always a challenge to get the new spells and progress in the game?
Side note; I never really played a game like this, but the demo was quite fun, although I didn\'t know what to do, then just walk through the level and kill everything that has legs.
So, is this game worth buying (aside the perfect graphics) or should I just leave it?
and if you had a choice; what would you recommend more:
Devil May Cry
or
Baldur\'s Gate
Thanks in advance and for the impressions :)

I would say that it is the best PAL game out yet. I like this kind of games and i think so far that I don´t agree with ddaryl but I havent played as much as him. I also think that ddaryl started the game om normal. This game has to be played on Hard to be a challenge for a hardcore gamer like my self.
Why don´t you give the game a rent and decide then?

wow Bossieman, it seems to be a really must have game, I\'ll buy it, but not at the moment, I have to finish DMC and J&D before purchase it... uhhh Great Christmas

Act I had me as giddy as a school girl too. There was more variety in Act I, and it was the euphoria of a brand new game that looked as great as BG: DA does
I also never once said the game was bad, but I bet the farm by the end you will understand why I downgraded the game from a AAA game to a good game with great graphics
Co-Op mode and on hard may make the game more palletable though since I have not experienced this game in those ways

thanks bossieman :) Guess I will just have to test the game for myself since they don\'t hire games here in Zurich. :( Anyway, I still have to complete Jak & Daxter before I buy a new game... guess I\'ll just wait and see for now. :)

Don\'t hire games how come ?
Speaking of hiring games... hmm prehaps I should hire and complete this in a weekend. :)
-
Welp Bossieman its been a few days hows the game goping for you and do you still hold the same euphoria
-

Whoops! What I ment to say was, that they don\'t rent PS2 games overhere.. :( Just DVD-Videos and normal VHS-Videos, but no games.. or at least not anywhere around where I live.
BTW; I just played Devil May Cry and it is heaps of fun, but very challenging. I am mission 3 and am having some fun with the spider, lion and the devil-boss... didn\'t quite finished them off yet, but am progressing nicely. My estimate would be another 20 times until I beat them all together.. hehe. :)
Anyway, what I wanted to say was that Devil May Cry is very much fun and I am seriously considering to buy it (just got it from a friend over the weekend). So the choice is still; DMC or Baldur\'s Gate? I heard that a lot of people in here think that DMC is just worth a long rental, but still, it\'s very challenging and I don\'t see me finishing it in the next few days...
any suggestions? which game? get DMC or is Baldur\'s Gate heeps better?

(warning, maybe small spoilers)
Ok, I do understand you in some points but there is some major differences between 2 player and singel player.
As I have stated in previous post we all started the game co-op on hard. We had a lot of trouble making progress in the game. We had to plan every singel attack to succed in beating the creatures.
We had a real blast and I didn´t understand what peole was talking about when they said the game was easy and short. It took us almost 10 hours to beat act I. The damn Orb took over 2 hours to beat!!
We continiue in act II abd had a real blast, so damn funny!! We bought some kicka.ss weapons and armour.
After we had lighten up the fire to unfreeze the dwarf. (the sequence with the white dragon on the rock, did anyone else think it was a FMV and not ingame) we played for about 3 hours more. Then we had to stop, it was Sunday and everyone was going to work on Monday. We will continiue next weekend.
I then decided that I would play the game singelplayer on hard.
I started the game and realized after 20 minutes that this is very very easy. I had no troubles what so ever with anything in act I or II (I am in act III now). The Orb is a joke in singelplayer. When we beat it in co-op we had to kill the army about 12-15 times. In singelplayer I had to beat it 3 times. LOL That is no challenge.
There is more monsters and they are way tougher in co-op.
This game should be played in co-op and nothing else. If you are a hardcore gamer this game is no challenge whatsoever in singelplayer.
ddaryl i highly recomend you to play the game in co-op. It´s a totally differnet game.

Thanks for the update. Sounds interesting. I still don\'t know if I should get this game or not. I might give it a miss if I really wanted it I would have had it by now.

Cool I will but it probably won\'t happen till Summer time when my step son visits for 6 weeks
