Worst call I\'ve ever seen by a ref, in the Browns vs Jacksonville game, guy catches for the first down with 50 seconds left, Browns run the next play in spike it, then Jacksonville calls a challenge for the first down catch, bull****, thats to late, the refs already allowed the next play to run, and then during the review its an obvious catch and the ****ing worthless ref calls it back, no catch, hell I would be doin what the fans did, all of them started winging beer bottles onto the field, the whole field was covered with beer bottles, the refs said it was out of control and called the game with 48 seconds left, the refs then had to run off the field covering their heads, and the Jacksonville players ran off too
-
Being a Browns Fan I totally Aggreee! that was Total BS! the REFS SHOULD BE FIRED! they had a HUGE chance to win but noooooooooo......the refs SCREW the browns!
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
Thats bull****, the refs are like, who needs rules, hell the browns even did a play after, but what the hay, lets **** them over
-
they blamed it on their little buzzers they use for plays.........what a Cover-up! and the last game this season at Browns Stadium.......that makes it even worse....even even more worse is if they won they would still have a chance at the playoffs
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
Just their luck, they have a good season and it gets ruined
-
The fans throwing the bottles were complete idiots. It makes Cleveland\'s fans look like jackasses.
-
On the note..the Bears are officially in the playoffs with the killing they handed down untoTampaBay 27-3 :D Chicago embaressed TB today so bad it wasnt even funny.

Maybe to a person that isn\'t a Cleveland fan, but they have a right to be pissed, I would have done the same thing if I was at the game, or atleast cheered "Bull****" with them
-
That does seem to be some pussy ass football.
The only way thats actually official is if after the first down, they didnt deem the play over by blowing the whistle. If they blew the whistle after the play there is no way they can challenge the spot of the ball, But if it wasnt then it is likely that jacksonville did that.
Either way what kinda football is that? I dunno who to blame.. Jacksonville for their pussiness in thinking their going to get beat... or the refs that let it happen. Bah, what is this footbal game coming to.
-
YEAH NINERS SMOKED THE PHINS TODAY! NINER PRIDE BABY! 10-3, REKLAIM THE NFC WEST!! I KNOW YOU LIKE THAT SHUTOUT!
(Clears throat)
Okay, about that Browns game.
Let\'s face it, that wasn\'t a complete pass. I understand you guys are a bit biased being Browns fans, but me as well liking the Browns and hating the Jags clearly saw he didn\'t have full position, and as he landed you can see that the ball clearly hit the ground. It was an incomplete pass, the ref was just doing his job.
But....
That ref had absolutely NO reason to try to challenge it after the next play had already started. It\'s against the rules, and that is utter BS. But let\'s say that even if he hadn\'t of challenged it, what the hell is wrong with Tim Couch? Even if the ref hadn\'t have challenged the pass, Jags still would have won. Why? Tim Couch double-pumped a spike? WHY~??!?!?!? Is he trying to uh, "fake the ground out" ? It was an intentional grounding anyways.
So, regardless, although I HATE the jags and respect the Browns, the Browns woulda lost.
And being born in Toledo Ohio I have a sense of admiration for the Browns and thought that the fans reaction to this was very stupid. I understand their mad and Browns fans had to go through alot the last couple years with the Browns moving to Baltimore. But the fans were way out of line. Ladies and gentlemen, a prime reason NO ONE wants to play in Cleveland.
Oh well, NINERS ARE 10-3! WE\'RE BACK BABY!!!

Its still up in the air if he caught it or not, its to hard to be sure on so you can\'t say your positive, FOX and CBS sports both said he caught it, and even if he didn\'t catch it, the challenge was to late so it wouldn\'t have mattered either way, and the Jags wouldnt have won for sure anyway, even though Tim Couch doubled pumped, that wouldnt have ensured Jags victory, it would have just been intentional grouding, 15 yard penalty, replay of down, so that wouldnt have ended the game for the browns, no matter how you put it, the Browns got screwed over royle

Nope, Intentional Grounding isn\'t replay of down, it\'s loss of down. It would have been Jags ball.

Either way lets face it the refs screwed this one up bad, they deserved to be knocked up side the head with a couple plastic beer bottles, oh know plastic that hurt.:o
-
So, let me get this straight Bozco.. You don\'t support someone using a baseball bat to scare off people who are damaging his property (see: Rants and Raves thread), yet you do support throwing beer bottles at ref\'s over a football game?
Hmm..
-
very good point LIC, I forgot all about that hypocritical remark he made.
yea hmm...
-
Throwing glass bottles is completely neccessary.
That\'s just as bad as when Michael Irvin got hurt and the Eagle fans were cheering about it. The injury ended his career.

Very true.. Me being from Boston as well.. Stuff like that happens up here all the time..
There was a snowball/iceball fight a couple years ago at a Partriots games, just like what happend yesterday in Cleavland..
Forget those refs, they made a really bad call and had to suffer the consequences of it..
-
This reminds me of when the Utah Jazz were cheated out of 5 points in a finals game. If it wasn\'t for the ref\'s bad calls, the Jazz would have won. My advice to you is to get over it though, because there is nothing you can do about it. As long as games are refereed by humans, there will always be human error.
-
Just like when the Phoenix Suns got totally JACKED in games 2 and 4 of the 1993 NBA Finals. But then, "america loves the Chicago Bulls..." so the rules don\'t apply to them I guess. "The greatest player to ever..." blah blah blah
Let\'s also not forget game 5 of the 1976 NBA Finals in which the Suns were TOTALLY ROBBED of a victory that would have put them up 3 games to 2 against the Boston Celtics. The crooked officials in the Boston Garden didn\'t even bother to turn the clock back on for several seconds when the Celtics inbounded near the end, giving them plenty of time to score.
Grrrrrr
-
it has been a hellacious week for cleveanders anyways...Trading Robbie alomar and 2 ither guys for Lawton and 3 other guys and now that Screwjob.........and the Cavs just SUCK, I am surprised they didnt rush the field!

Hmm..
I didn\'t say it was totally alright, I just said I understand why they did it, and of course I said that, it was about 30 minutes after the call, I was pissed, what would you expect, I don\'t agree with it now, I was in the heat of the moment
Hmm...
oh, and the intentional grouding call would not have ruined the chances for the browns, I\'ll explain, even if they lost a down, it would have only been 2nd down with 48 seconds left, so why do you still think they would have lost if that was called, they still would have had possession, I don\'t know how I could explain any simplier
-
If the Jags didn\'t end Cleveland\'s season, the Steelers would have.
And from a Steeler Fan\'s biased view, Browns fans are the biggest jackasses. I mean, they freakin hit their own guys!
-

Yeah that is true it would have been 2nd down but they would be even further back.
But What if\'s aren\'t too important they didn\'t even call intentional grounding anywayz so who cares.
Browns lost. Sucks. But they lost.
-
either way, the browns are 5-6 with a 3 game losing streak going on now. They probably wont make it to the play-off\'s anyway. They have talent, they just need to make a move here and a move there and get that team together.

Plz, the steelers got lucky last time they beat the Browns, all fieldgoals, and a steelers fan calling browns fans jackasses is funny

uh.... Cleveland is 6-7.
And that jag game was very imporant for them cuz\' if they woulda won they would be 7-6, and be able to battle for an AFC Wild Card.
Doesn\'t it feel nice to be quoted and proved wrong?

Lucky is when you\'re dominated statistically, and the opposing kicker misses 4 FGs. Cleveland did not fit those circumstances. They just aren\'t that good. *points and laughs* WHO OWNS CENTRAL, BABY?
And you\'ll see what I mean when we beat up on you in two weeks.

Well I would say "Bring it" except for the fact that the browns have a 3 game losing streak, well maybe they\'ll break it when they whoop the sorry ass steelers
-
sorry boz., but the steelers are gonna own cleveland!
-
I saw an interesting segment that highlighted the AFC Central and it showed how one year, the Jaguars emerged, next year it was the Titans, then last year it was the Ravens, and now it\'s the Steelers. If the law of averages come in to play here, I wouldn\'t be surprised to see the Browns be a playoff team next year.

  And this, kids, is why you should never inhale pure cocaine
*wipes tear from eye* Oh me, oh my. Welcome to reality, my friend: The Browns are mediocre at best. And they\'re gonna be limping away from Heinz Field just like everyone else this year, save for a very lucky Ravens team (and we proved last Sunday who was the best)
-
Well, we\'ll see who does the talking come Sunday....

Boston fans aren\'t the nicest but they are some of the most loyal. If something like this was to happen to the Pats I doubt they would start throwing beer bottles at their own players. We New Englanders operate on a higher level than Clevelanders. :p
BTW, So many curses? Do you mean that Bambino foolishness? Whatever. And by my count, thats one.
But it is cool. I understand that being from Texas you would be a bit upset. Not having any good teams in any sport and all...... well, maybe the mavs, but how long will that last?
Anyways, its all jokes. Good luck to everyone\'s squad. Except for the Jets. May the Jets crash and burn from now and forever more. Amen.

How bout\' my Niners whompin\' the Eagles!
YOU GOTTA LOVE THE NINERS GOAL LINE "D" BABY!
EAGLES HAD 8 TRIES TO SCORE ON THE NINERS 1 YARD LINE!
AND THE NINERS PICKED THE BALL OFF ON THE 8th ATTEMPT!
WOOOOHOOOO!
(Passes out)
(Wakes up after choking on own vomity egg nog)
Ah, I love Christmas.

That would have happened in any football stadium, I don\'t care what you say, oh and Gohan, they didn\'t throw beer bottles at their own players just to let you know

Im still goin with the bears as long as I can!!! Then either the rams or raiders.

Um...yeah; but the thing is...it happened in Cleveland and to a lesser extent New Orleans last sunday. Bad Calls get made every week, almost every game. It just takes a hardcore fan to go crazy like that. If a ref was to blow a call that in affect killed a teams playoff hopes I would expect crazy sh!t in Chicago, Cleveland, New York(Jets), Oakland, Pittsburg, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Detroit, and yes, even New England. These are some huge sports cities, some bigger than others, where sports fans operate on a different level. Its a different kind of intensity among the fans. Some other cities may have large fan bases but they are fair weather fans. Denver is sputturing? Fans leave a lot of empty seats in the stands. Are the Falcons even playing today? You wouldn\'t know it by the ridiculousy small amount of fans Tail Gating. Teams like Cleveland, NYJ, and the Pats will pack a stadium no matter what their teams record is. It doesn\'t happen all the time but it happens more often than not. I was just busting Bozco\'s balls because I know football is HUGE in Cleveland. I know the actions at that Jags game were just some fans with misdirected anger and a lot of copy cats. Thats the end of my Christmas/Kwanzaa/Chanukka/Boxing Day rant. Good luck to all of the teams today. Except for the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS, may they crash and burn giving "America\'s Team" the clinched division title it deserves.

Just another Texas team I\'ll have to hate.

welp, browns get owned yet again :D 30-7 with 20secs left
Mi beloved Bears carve another win notch on the belt.
Killa:what city is getting the team? Houston?

Yeah it\'s gonna be a Houston team.
*barf*

let me get this straight..houston gets rid of the oilers what 3 years ago in 99(now tenessee titans) only to get another team and a new stadium?
My question is, why not keep the oilers and get a new stadium? Where is the love and support for the team? So everytime they start doing bad they will just get rid of em and get another team a few years later?
-
The Oilers were very umpopular in Houston during their last season there, in 96. They were averaging a pitiful 12000 fans at home games. The fans didn\'t give a damn, and the Oilers were not a bad team then (they were 8-8).
So anyway, the Steelers once again proved why they\'re the best team in the league. Detroit has lost a lot of close games. This game was not close at all. Even the Rams aren\'t as good as the black and yellow this time. We\'re goin all the way to the Big Easy, and we\'re gonna win there too.
And we\'re going to stomp the Browns before we get started. *waves terrible towel*
-
I see the either the Rams or Steelers getting upset in the playoffs. It won\'t be Rams-Steelers in the Superbowl. I\'ll put money on that too.
-
That would be one hell of a ****ing football game tho. Rams will make it to the bowl, count on it. ;)
-
IMO, it will be a lopsided game. The Rams have too many weapons for anyone to compete. When the Rams are firing on all cylinders they can beat any team in the league, badly. The only one that can stop the Rams is the Rams and thats why I want them to get upset in the playoffs.
BTW, You should all root for America\'s team. The PATRIOTS it don\'t get more american than that. If you don\'t root for the Pats, then the terrorists have already won. :D
-
The Rams may be good, but they never faced the Steel Curtain:D
We\'re great now, but just wait till we get the Bus back. If Kordell keeps playing at this level, no one can beat the Black and Gold. Not even the Rams. Hell, the Rams just barely escaped the lowly Panthers, while Pittsburgh completely dismantled a (slightly) better team.
There\'s only one #1 team, and they reside on the crests of the Allegheny/Monogehela/Ohio Rivers:)
-
Rams are a beatable team. All you need is a good front 4 and blitz Kurt Warner, cuz\' we all know that he is a pocket passer. Put pressure on Warner, the Rams entire offense collapses. I\'ve seen it with the Saints, Buccanneers, Giants and Eagles.
-
that sounds like just about every NFL team :D
-
HAHAHAHA! The Steelers lost to the Bengals......I guess the Steelers will lose to 2 Ohio teams in 2 weeks! next week the Browns will beat them!
BTW the Browns beat Tennessee
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
the titans suck this years though, so that doesnt eman much..and once again, the browns will be owned!
-

The Rams are definately beatable. The thing is that when they lost they usually beat themselves with turnovers. The Rams have and incredible runnong back that can keep the Defense honest and make them defend the Run and when they do STL canm blow em out of the water with their passing attack.
BTW, Don\'t get me wrong. I am far from a STL fan. I hate that team with a passion; but the football fan in me knows a really good team when I see one and the Rams are one of the best of all time.

I still can\'t believe the 49ers lost to the Cowboys. That just pisses me off to no end. Not to mention that they lost by such a huge deficit as well. Ugh.
Side Note: Kurt Warner has the ugliest wife in NFL history. He\'s no gem himself either. Then again, who am I to judge... we have Jeff Garcia as our quarterback. In regards to him, I\'ve seen prettier bloody stumps.
Then again, looks have nothing to do with ability and Kurt Warner just outclasses Garcia in every concievable way and the niners just don\'t have a very good offensive line. The pressue Garcia is constantly under coupled with Owens\' slippery hands (come on, 2 catches per game and around 3 dropped passes?), the fault doesn\'t rest entirely on Garcia\'s shoulders. *sigh* I miss the Niners of the 80\'s.

They only lost by 6. But remember that the Cowboys have the 2nd best defense in the NFC. I was surprised at how Emmit Smith ran the ball, the Cowboys O-Line dominated us. It\'s okay though cuz\' playoff teams always lose these final weeks, I\'ve seen it happen so many years. We should bounce back against New Orleans though.
