Here\'s a point I think we\'ve overlooked in our ongoing, stale, rather boring analysis of console sales. ;]
Peter Roithmayr, Electronics Boutique Vice-President of videogame merchandising, admitted Microsoft\'s ability to resupply his stores have surpassed all of his expectations. "We have sold three times as many Xboxes as GameCubes since launch. The GameCube has not exceeded our expectations. We planned to sell every GameCube unit we\'ve received, and we have. It\'s not because of a higher demand for Xbox with consumers, it\'s simply because we\'re getting a better flow from Microsoft. If we could get more units from Nintendo, we could sell just as many GameCubes."
The site that reported (http://www.n-sider.com/main.php?page=news/121601shortage.htm) the news, said, "At this point, it’s more of a manufacturing race than anything else."
And before someone says "That\'s not true, at our store here in Nebraska, we have a Gamecube just sitting there," remember, this is a national/global event. For every Gamecube sitting on shelves in Nebraska, there are (hypothetically) 100 people in California who want one...

*Consults Magic 8 Ball*
Will mm be the next poster with another anti-Nintendo message?
Magic 8 Ball: All Signs Point To YES!

Well I\'ve been trying to remind everyone that that is why PS2 is selling so many units too--xbox and gc are sold out so Mommy buys the other console. Most here like to overlook that though.

Microsoft can get them to stotes faster since it\'s made in north america. Sony and Nintendo have to ship them from Japan.

Slaps Dajona hard in the back of the head.......
Errrrrrmmmmm all PAL PS2\'s are built in a factory in Germany.

Exactly. Microsoft\'s consoles are mostly or entirely made outside of the United States as well; I know one of the key manufacturing plants is in Mexico, for example.

So I goofed. My point still holds true though. They still have to be shipped across an ocean which is alot farther than the Xbox plants in Mexico (i did say North America, not US).
