Title: Give me a story for returning my PS2
Post by: soundifound on December 20, 2001, 08:00:19 PM
I wanna get a replacement(x-changing it at K-mart) tomorrow but don\'t have a good story.  I could wait til the 26th saying it was a present, but I\'d rather not go to the store on the 26th.  Any good ideas?

I tried some B.S. story and got the boot, believe me without a receit they will look at you like your crazy, going the 26th will give you a much better chance of exchanging it

I attempted it at a local K-Mart, well if you friend is working the desk that would make it easy, but if not I would say go the 26th

What\'d they say to you?  Just that they can\'t take it without a receipt, or just say that your\'re lying?  And did you ever end up returning it someplace else?

They just said I need a receipt, and I ended up springing some money for a laser lens cleaner and it fixed my problem so I\'m all good

Im very skeptical tho, cause I know Im getting 007 and J&D for christmas.. I dont want to end up without a Ps2.. Ill be so ****ing pissed. But what the hell can I do, its either spending 120 bucks for some stupid **** and I wont even get my Ps2 back for another 8 weeks or try to take it back. What the ****!!!!! Sony really ****in pisses me off! Bastards. :rpissed:

I mean, what could they really do?  All PS2s have the same UPC code so I don\'t think they could find out that you didn\'t purchase from them.  Some advice though: check out and see if your box is identical to the others that they\'re selling, taking off any stickers on yours that shouldn\'t be there.

You say -
"Hi I wanted to return this."

They say -
"Why?"

You say -
"I need the $300 for my valtrex prescription over in the pharmacy department."

All you have to say is I got it for my birthday last month and it stoped working. They let you exchange it and give it back to sony as a defective item and get the money back. Easy as pie.

tell the person behind the counter that you know where they live and that you know how to make a bomb. Ask them if pissing off "harry the electronics department assistant manager" is worth their family\'s life...

whoa, I need to get out of work and down a few pints....

cheers guys, happy xmas n- stuffff    ;)

My goodness! That sounds like a great idea...

BTW - Don\'t they check that sticker to see if it\'s on? The one that if you rip it... It voids your warrenty?

If you talking about the sticker on the outside of the box then, you dont have to rip it to get it off, just be real careful.

no.... I\'m talking about the sticker on the ps2 itself... If you rip it off.... It voids your warrenty...

Well... Just ask me this..... Do they open it up and look at the console, like just checking it?

Tell them you are gay and if they won\'t give you a refund, then it\'s sexual discrimination.

Who cares if it voids it.  For most of us in the U.S., our warranties are already expired.  They would have no way of telling the difference if you switch the stickers(i checked, it is peelable(word?)  Make sure you get some old lady at the counter who knows nothing about games and give her a hard time with some serious talk.

I work at k-mart and I know all the excuses.

1.just call up K-Mart and ask to speak to the Store director "head boss" he is the brown noser that does everything to please the costumer, tell him you got it for your B- day 2 weeks ago and it just stoped reading disk, tell him you don\'t have a receipt because your aunt from out of town got i for you and god knows what she did with the receipt, all you want to do is even exchange it for another one period. 8 out of 10 he will say sure bring it in, clean it up real good to it looks new because they will take it out the box and check it out to see if everything is ok. Then when you go to customer service tell them that you spoke to the store director about it and he said ok, they will call him and he will tell thm it\'s cool. BAM you got you\'r new PS2.

I will not guarantee this will work but it\'s the best excuse period. just act cool and calm and polite when you talk to the sotre director :), helps a bunch if you parents make the call.

im not promoting this because i know it\'s bad but some people just don\'t have 120.00 buck to have thier lenses cleaned
