Thanks to coremagazine for the info. I think Xbox will have a successful launch in Feb. :D
"In preparation for the release of the Xbox this February in Japan, several Tokyo-based retailers have setup playable kiosks for customers. While all associated hardware and software was procured from the American market, the kiosks have sparked considerable interest. Players lined up in several Akihabara-based retailers this weekend for a taste of NFL Fever 2002 and Munch\'s Oddysse. Moreover, shop owners allowed customers to physically compare the size of the system with the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. One local merchant hung sings next to the kiosks reassuring customers that the Japanese Xbox controller would be significantly smaller than the American one currently on display. By in large however, the grassroots support for Microsoft\'s console appears to be growing in Japan. "

sounds good. I heard that all import copies of Kabuki Warriors in Japan sold out immediately. Go figure.
But you gotta remember, there are hardcore gamers everywhere, we need to see if the rest of Japan accepts MS, too.
