Title: Help connecting audio system(optical digital audio)
Post by: soundifound on December 25, 2001, 07:39:42 AM
Ok, I plugged the Toslink cabele into the back of the PS2\'s digital out into the optical input(yes its an input) on my CD player.  Then I switched it to Digital Optical ON in the PS2 setup.  I switched it to digital mode on the CD player but I get no sound.  WTF is going on?

the toslink cable should be connected to the recivers input toslink. I think there is siomething odd with a optical input on a CD-player. is it a recordable CD-player?
If you connect the toslink into the reciver it should work.

Well, its a mini home theater system.  It is clearly labeled Optical Digital Input so I don\'t know what the hell is up with it.

What kind of sound is coming out from the PS2? Is is DVD or CD or game-music?
Do you have an ICQ?

There\'s an Analog or Digital input.  When I select Analog my TV sound comes through the speakers.  When I select Digital no sound comes through(from PS2 through optical cable to system).  When I hook the audio leads from my component video cables to my TV\'s inputs I get Pro Logic sound through the Analog menu.  ICQ= 65734408
