Hello All:
I have an external USB 1ZIP DRIVE (100megs) for my PC and I was wondering if it could be used on the PS2 USB for saving games?
I tried it, but when I went to save something, the PS2 was looking for the MEMORY CARD in the slot. It did not detect the ZIP. Is this becasuse the ZIP was for the PC and I need to buy a COMPATIBLE PS2 ZIP DRIVE?
Please help........and THANKS!!!!!!!!

Ermm...
No, you can\'t use your PC USB zip drive on your PS2 to save games or for any use.. You can\'t buy a PS2 compatible USB ZIP drive either, as there isn\'t any. Iomega did have plans for one, but I do believe it was canceled.
On the bright side, if you\'re wanting a giant memory card, you can save that money you was going to waste on a "PS2 COMPATIBLE ZIP DRIVE" and spend it towards a PS2 HD (hard drive).

Do you know when that is coming out and how big the drive is?

Between late Spring or Fall next year. 40 gigs of Hard Drive space.
A few games are being developed for the hard drive component.
Expect Sony to start selling PS2 at a lower price by Spring, like $230 or $300 with the hard drive. I\'m speculating but I shouldn\'t be too far off the mark.
