Post by: Elspuddy on December 27, 2001, 04:27:42 PM

i did hire out tony hawks pro 3 and that some time hangs before i even get to the game.
i\'m not point a finger at my sister, but i got reasion to beleve that some how the ps2 has falen off the place i\'v put it on,

In my opionion it would just be the disks because if it was the PS2 it wouldn\'t even load the disk and give ya the disk read error signal.

Then again if any of your other games have the same problem it could be the hardware, clean the disk and try it again, try some other games and see what happens, if at any point while the PS2 is loading you hear a ticking sound or soft high pitch beeps or a knocking sound coming from the PS2 it\'s the hardware.

If you turn on the PS2 and it shows the squares floating and the game doesn\'t load before it goes to the browser that means the lens is getting dusty and can most likely lead to it craping out so take a cd-dvd lens cleaner and clean the lens, PS2\'s are notoriouse for thier dusty lens crap outs.

I have had to return 3 PS2\'s since OCT 26th of last year because of the dreaded disk read error so I would know lol, good luck to ya.

Welcome to the boards.

I\'ve started to catch up to Unknown\'s record of Sony messing about ness. They are one nasty company. If you want my advice DONT I REPEAT DONT swap the PS2 using the warrentee. You will end up with a reconditioned model even if they tell you they are sending new unit (long story). Take the unit back to the shop and with a bit of luck you will get a replacement from their stock.

It could be different where you are from. Im from England so my expirences are with Sony Europe / UK.

Your problem sounds like the disc to me though.
