This game looks awesome!!!! I will pick this one up once its comes out. Check out the graphics they look very detail and also once again it has textures only possible on da xbox. Oh yeah malice( the main character) is so cute.:bounce:

Hmmmmmmmmm.......not really. When I saw it running in motion a long time ago. It looked cool she can run around with her hammar and smash the bad guys, but other than that I\'m not to sure.

Thats funny, you talk about how the graphics are sweet and your buying it once it comes out, but then when asked about gameplay you haven\'t heard anything, you know you shouldn\'t buy a game on graphics alone

It amazes me, you go around being hyped over a game because of screenshots and someone asks about gameplay details and you have no clue what so ever. THen you try and describe what you think the gameplay will be like and its the exact thing you trash Nintendo for...."kiddy games".

I still think she looked better without a mouth. Dunno, jus gave her character that extra bit of uniqueness. I guess if she\'s gotta have one tho, that\'s a good mouth. Anyone know when the PS2 version is gonna be out?

What are you talking about its plays like a plaformer I saw it in motion. Yes the game does look good. But what you don\'t realize pretty much every nintendo game is kiddy that they make. Who cares if its not exclusive to the xbox I will get that version since it will look better and probably come out first.

Aww look, they gave Banjo and Kazooie pig tails.
Aside from the polygon count on Malice herself, it looks no better than say, Conker\'s Bad Fur Day on N64. That was a pretty game, granted, but still...
And by the way, it looks like a cartoon which by your definition means you won\'t like it. You\'re not eight years old, after all. :rolleyes:
Seriously, I\'m sure it could turn out to be a great game, I just wanted to point out the irony in your excitement.

Hello. Rastalant? Yea. The basic point they were making, as far as I can tell, is that Malice is every bit as kiddy as many Nintendo games. Yet you\'re remarkably impressed by it. I don\'t know what they\'ve inferred from this, but personally, I\'m thinking "hypocrite" when I read a lot of the posts you\'ve made thus far.

Well, I think it looks good. Does that make me a hypocrite? I mean, I liked the looks of StarFox Adventure too, and Leisure Suit Larry 7. I always thought that when people called Nintnedo games kiddy, they were talking about the content.. with is generally acceptable for children under 12. You really can\'t tell what the content of Malice will be from just a few screenshots and demos. Least none that I\'ve seen yet. Then again, Conkers Bad Fur Day had adult content, but I consider that kiddy because it was a half hearted attempt at adult humor which relied mainly on tired - worn out fart/poop jokes and cussing in every other line. Maybe something a 15 year old would find cool, but not for gamers with a little (VERY little.. I do love playin LSL after all) taste to their raunchy humor.
Ugh.. my head hurts... I\'m gonna lay down for awhile.... :crap:

The difference between you and Rasta is that you know when and when not to call a game kiddy based on what you know about it. Rastalant sees Zela (or Cel-da as he puts it) and proclaims the game to be kiddy from just one scene that was comical more than anything else, even thought the theme of the game and how it plays has yet to be experienced by anyone outside of Nintendo. On the other hand, we have Malice, same concept as Zelda above, but to him, this game is going to rock and it is "mature." It\'s a bad double standard is what it is and his definition is determined by what logo the console has on its hood, not by the content of the game.

Hmm... The graphics are great. but it doesn\'t look like there\'s much gameplay though. Hopefully that add more to the game other than that hammer.
btw, we all know Rastalant has a biased opinion against
Nintendo. We all have a biased opinion about certain developers, I know I do :D

The textures really aren\'t that great. The only things that look impressive in those pics is the bump mapping -- but the textures have nothing to do with that. If it wasn\'t for the bump mapping, this game would look like all other average-graphics games out right now.

I\'m thinking you should get a clue here, Rast. You are on a PS2 board and there is plenty of people complaining that you are going overboard on bashing a Nintendo product. That should be the most obvious of signs.

Malice looks sweet as hell. I can\'t wait. I saw this game in motion two rastalant a long time ago and they also had interviews about the gameplay too. Everything I read sounded kick ass. It use to be on the old msxbox. You might still be able to find one of the interviews the developers did.
But Malice sounds and looks sweet as hell I can\'t wait. t
p.s These gamespot pics don\'t do the game very much justice and I think some of those pics are very old I seen those 6 months ago.

But you are all missing my point I never said just cause a game is kiddy it doesn\'t look good. Malice has some amazing graphics and so does jax and daxter. I just said nintendo focuses to much on kiddy games thats it. I see nothing wrong with that statement. Sure, i don\'t mind some kiddy games but that shouldn\'t be what every game is based on.

I personally think that the girl in the pic still ha some sense of \'coolness\' just like crash, that starfox dude and the \'old zelda\' have. I can\'t explain but they do have some mature elements in them.
And without the bump-mapping it would look worse than Jak & daxter

Yes but my point is not every xbox game is kiddy. While most of nintendo game are based for kids thats. I like sony and microsoft better than nintendo. End of story.

You\'ve discovered a game that could prove to be brilliant. You posted images of it, and decided instantaneously that you would buy it the moment it was released. Now obviously, given the small amount of overall information we have about the game, you must absolutely love the style of it; why else would you feel so compelled to buy it? And yet, when Nintendo has a console where a multitude of the games have similar characters and overall style, you bash the system in its entirety for it. But the games on this system are all of a style you must obviously like quite a bit, judging from Malice; why on earth would a mass of games of this nature be a bad thing, if you\'re perfectly content with one game of that same nature?

Snowboarding games all play in a relatively similar manner, and having a console with nothing but those would end up being extraordinarily bland. But "kiddy games" is an entirely different story; unlike "snowboarding games," there is no genre of kiddy games. Look at Gamecube right now; if you even classify every one of these as kiddy games, you\'d already have a superb fighting game in SSB:M, a very original game in Pikmin, a game of a similar style to Malice in Luigi\'s Mansion, a great racer in Wave Race; and within a year, you\'ll quite possibly have Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Mario Kart, and all of the other titles which are simply bound to be good. For the most part, these would be classified as kiddy; but unlike Snowboarding games, they are all different in every shape and form. You cannot get sick of a set of games like that; you can get sick of a large amount of snowboarding games. "Kiddy" is merely a graphical style when it comes down to it.

OK, OK. Lets not turn this to a bash rastalant thread. First of all can anyone give me the story to malice and or what is done or said in the game? Probably not. Therefore you cannot begin to call it kiddy, just because it looks kiddy does not mean it is. We\'ve all played zelda and personally i think its kinda kiddy, (all the funky mask wearing and dancing, you know what im takling about). And plus nintendo admits that they aim their games at an audience around 3-14 or something like that. Malice the character looks kool too. A chick in some baggy jean overals, white shirt, big shoes topped with a gigantic hammer that can shred etc. does not look kiddy at all. Compared to the fairytale look that link has, (the little green floppy cone hat, green dress like clothing and tight white pants equiped with a sword), Malice looks quite "mature" in a way. Dont get me wrong zelda was a pretty good game but we have seen it come and go in many forms and if you look at its new look i can tell you, its not ment to be a "Mature" game. Now youll probably say well you have to look at the gameplay etc. Yet again we\'ve all played the game and its new look gives it more of a kiddy vibe. And Bozco, one kiddy game might just be better because it is, plain and simple. The people that are not one with nintendo might find a few kiddy games ok and the rest total crap. The few that just happen to hit other consoles are good, (and a few of them are not so good).
And yes nintendo makes a lot of kiddy games.

Wow this thread has went to dirt all over a nintendo comment which happens to be true. Nintendo is kiddie whats wrong with that I love playing mario. And just about every other adventure game.

Bozco im not trying to bash nintendo. I have loved nintendo since day one. Honestly i really dont like microsoft, and im not anywhere near being an xbox fanboy. I much prefer ps2 as it plainly states in my quote. There was a time when i thought nintendo should kick the $h*t out of microsoft and that gamecube and ps2 were to be my consoles of choice but right now nintendo hasnt shown me that. I miss the addictive gameplay of pilot wings, etc. Wave Race was a let down to me. I was looking forward to it but when i got to play it for a while, : ( it just didnt do it. Im babling on now. Im not bashing nintendo, all im saying is that Malice looks like a great game and Kiddy or not, (something which nobody can solidly prove right now), I think it looks more fun than the likes of luigi\'s mansion etc. (which was also a great dissapointment). : (

From what I\'ve read about Malice, is even though the main character looks cute and all, there would be some dark elements and themes of the game that might be considered for more "mature" audiences but that\'s been awhile ago and I\'m not too sure about that anymore. Nintendo specifically wants to avoid this, say with the upcoming cell-shaded Zelda game. Maybe that\'s what he means, just a thought and I\'m not saying Nintendo is kiddy.
Forget this post b/c I didn\'t bother to read the whole thread and I\'m sure someone already brought this up or something similar.

What argument is needed to prove nintendo is kiddie. Nintendo themselves said they are aiming for a younger generation. And someone posted on this forum nintendo stating they where aiming for kids.
Whats to dispute? And I am trying to figure out whats wrong with marketing to kids. So what if they make more kiddie adventure games than mature games. I seem to think some of them are fun.

I think you guys are getting way too personnal in here. Hating each other come on guys it\'s not that deep.
And there is a lot of ps2 worshiping that goes on in here that gets really annoying, but that is no reason to hate someone.
It\'s all in fun. And ppl love what they love. Some ps2 more some xbox. M&M has dogged nintendo in plenty of threads and nobody has attacked his character like rasta has been getting attacked. Well some trolls did but thats another subject.

I dont hate him it was not the best of days though
anyway the point of the matter is its wrong to bash any system but also its wrong to praise any system for the wrong reasons when its comes to gaming - its that games and a game can be pretty and a game can be ugly but you play games not look at em
so if a game looks kiddy but is fun none the less it shouldnt matter and it just seems you have this big grudge against nintendo
