Title: How to tell if one has latest model from mod.number

I waited till about a week ago to get my ps2 because I am well aware of the rush to get them out at the beginning (and the problems that usually go along with this) I have been watching the posts to try and get a definitive grasp on the model numbers.My machine\'s mod.# is scph-30001r Date code 1c.
I read a post that said 30001 is on all north american machines.How does one tell which is most recent? Thanks
