Resident Evil 1 or directors cut (PSX)
Resident Evil 2 (PSX)(N64)
Resident Evil 3; Nemisis (PSx)(PC)
Resident Evil Survivor(PSX)(PC)
Resident Evil Code Veronica X? (DreamCast)(PS2)
Iv beaten all of the resident evil games, in fact i just beat code veronica 15 minutes ago. Whitch one to you like the best? I like 2 the best. may not be the best graphics but it WAS the funnest. 2nd i would have to pick code veronica x. the graphics for this (being on the playstation 2) had the best graphics out of all of them. plus i really like the gunes for code veronica x, the assalt rifle and duel sub machine guns were fun to kill zombies with. the one that sucked the most had to be survivor. it really sucked i beat it in 6 hours. and if i dont get a good 10 or 12 hours out of a game it really suckes. What are your thoughts on these games

RE: C: V
And I hear the DC version is better...
:fro: :fro: :fro:

It is, as long as your playing it on a PC moniter. On a normal TV, the difference in texture quality is minimal.
My Fav: RE1 (PSX)

RE: Directors Cut (its the original game and THEN some)
Code Veronica is easily the worst...although i\'d still give it a good *thumbs up*
-
Without a doubt I think RE1 was the best, was the most fun to me and it was the only one to scare the **** out of me, remember I was like 10 when it came out, well everything about the first game made it the best
-
Although I loved RE1, RE2 is still my favorite.
-
the first resident evil followed closely by the second ... after that it just gets a bit repetative and also having the same sucky control/ battle system got my goat in the end :(
-
I ll say RE1.The hardest, the most claustrophobic, the hardest puzzles.....and for me its still the most scary of all.
-
I never really played RE1, but my favourite is definately RE2, that game was brilliant when it was first released
-
Resident Evil 1 !
-
thier all good except for RE 3. nemesis was lame

I like that one as well. If you wanted to rate like story line and graphics wise. I enjoyed the Dreamcast one. I have yet to beat that though. Wokin on it :)

Resident Evil 2 is the best by far. In my opinion its the most original of the series and nothing else can compare.
-
resi 1 ( or directors cut)
it was b4 its time, the puzzles were excellent , took me ages to complete , prob had the hardest puzzle ever, those damn doom books , how many got stuck on that!!! the first time a dog jumped out of a window!!!!!! scared the crap out of me!! multiple endings!! in short it rocked
they were all excellent, but none as good as the 1st!!
worst being that gun game
the re:cv
-
Resident Evil 2!
It was a mix of the great atmosphere of RE1 and good graphics of RE3!
-
Resident Evil 2
-
RE2 by the way i loved RE;CVX
but 1 or either 2 was the hardest to beat .and there werent hardly any puzzles in CVX. except for the ingine oil puzzle. that wasnt to hard though

RE1
The sharks were cool and the tyrant freaked me out.
-
RE 3 had the coolest puzzles in that they matched the environment. Unlike RE 2, which had the lamest puzzles. Why the heck are statues hiding keys, holding gems, and libraries have secret switches???

Don\'t forget, they built a massive train that goes way below the police station into an immense underground laboratory and no one ever knew about it. Didn\'t anyone hear the construction noises?

Oh yes the Tyrant.Good old memories. The first boss I ever encountered in a PSX1 action/adventure game.I remember in the final scene with him I had only one herb and my health was orange. And I failed so many many times. And the biggest annoyment is when I got the launcher and missed the target resulting to a bloody death and start all over again.

I thought Nemesis was real cool. The way he stalked you through the city and could even follow you through rooms.
As for the game, not as good RE 2 or C: V but still good, nonetheless.

IMO, the best is Resident Evil 2. Tons of stuff to do, puzzles were actually decent, story is good (well, better then some of the others) and it is simply fun.
Oh, and you missed a Resident Evil in you list. Resident Evil: Gun Survivor...okay, maybe it wasn\'t that big of a deal. I doubt any sane person would even say this is the best Resident Evil, but it is a Resident Evil...regrettably. :shy:
[edit]Opps, you include it. Must\'ve read too fast or something. Still, again, I doubt any sane person would pick Resident Evil: Gun Survivor (Simply RE: Survivor for the US) as the best.

I\'ve finished RE:DC, RE2 and RE:CV, I\'ve just started played RE3 that I found in a discount bin just months ago. Of the ones I\'ve finished, I\'d say RE1 (DC) was the best. RE2 was more of the same, but lacked the overall oppressive feel of the original (I was really afraid of the hunters, yipe!). CV was kinda... lame, more of the same clumsy fooling around with silly mutants, just prettier. Liked it enough that I don\'t feel bad about the purchase. RE3 feels kinda nice, kinda... well, old. I can\'t really say much before I\'ve gotten deeper into the game.
I can\'t even think of REs as horror games anymore, more like (half-?)decent adventures of some sort. Silent Hill owns... :D

Capcom ruined the original and great feel of RE buy making more action oriented sequels.SAD!!

Well, Capcom gave us Devil May Cry, so I\'ll forgive them :D

Cause it started as Resi4 and ended as DMC probably because it was way too action??:D
-
I\'m suprised at how many people like RE2 the most, personally I think RE1 is better than all the resident evils and better than Silent Hill and DMC

What is that?

Resident Evil 2 is the best because you could play the second time and see the other side of the story, which means that it had better replay value. The biggest disappointment was RE Gun Survivor.
I do though think that Silent Hill 2 is the best horror game around. It focusses on horror and not on action. I. will remember SH2 much longer than RE:CV as the atmosphere was 10 times better.

I found that to be more of an annoyance than a bonus. Would\'ve been a good idea if they had made Claire\'s game different than Leons. I mean, yeah there were small deviations and a few new scenes & scenarios, but otherwise exactly the same. It got damned frustrating doing the exact same puzzles all over again.
Least they finally got it right in RE:CV and had the things Claire do in the first disk actually affect the enviroment and create new puzzles to solve in Chris\'s disk.
-
I gotta say, u cant forget the original RE, this is why I bought the playstation in the first place. However, Code Veronica is my fav, unfortunatley, I played it on my Dreamcast. I believe its no different on the PS2 ???!!! :)

Yeah a lot of people do but personally I couldn\'t get into the game

I am a VERY big fan of Resident Evil and feel that I am in a good place to comment on what I feel is the best of the series.
I have BTW, completed and gotten every secret in the following titles:
Resident Evil (Saturn and PS versions)
Resident Evil: Director\'s Cut
Resident Evil: Director\'s Cut Dual Shock
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 2: Dual Shock
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
And my pick of Best of the Series is...
Resident Evil 2
This game really took everything that was great about the first one and made it better. I loved it, except for the fact that it was too easy and wasn\'t as forboding as the original. (The first one had a disturbing and suspenseful atmosphere that was never surpassed... until the release of Silent Hill.) But with better graphics, improved combat, a compeling story, Resident Evil 2 was definately the game that made the "survival horror" moniker, cool.
As for the other titles...
I never owned a Dreamcast (I knew that it would be short lived.) I did, however, rent the system and Resident Evil: Code Veronica play a good ways through it. The rental didn\'t include a memory cartridge so I never got the chance to play the entire way through RE:CV, but out of the part I did play i don\'t feel that it is any where near the best of the series. Reading reviews about it will make you believe that it absolutely destroys the titles before it and I don\'t feel that that is the case. In fact so far I like the first 3 (ok 6 in my case!!) games, better than Code Veronica.
As for that Survi- (ooh almost commeted a sin!!) I dissowned that sorry excuse for a Resident Evil game and vowed never to mention its name again!!!
Turns to slotted window.
