I just found out that our Activion and Capcom has left our country (South Africa). Which means that we lose out on THPS3, SPS3, Ominusha 1 & 2, RE:CV, DMC and all the furture releases.
I have finished Silent Hill 2 and have been waiting very patiently for Ominusha, RE:CV and DMC...because our games come out a month after the UK gets theirs.
I have been reading all your reviews on the games, what it was like, how cool it is, how cool the graphics are, etc.....and that is the only taste of it I will ever get.
Now give me your honest opinion and put yourself in my shoes....if Capcom and Activision was not within our country anymore, do you think it would be worth it being a gamer? I mean EA has taken over here like a virus and is only growing by the day. Konami and Square is the only reason to still stay a gamer.
What do you guys think?

I think you should find a good importer. FAST. :D
Sorry about your luck man, but just think of how well you got it. Some countries within your continent will never see a single PS2 in this generation. Or Xbox or NGC for that matter. I mean, first you have to have a home to play your PS2 in, Food to give you energy to game, clothes so that you\'ll stay warm enough to game, a car to go get the games, a game shop that hasn\'t been shelled out by morters, and a government that believes more in the value of building an sound economic infrastructure based on import/export rather than another another crate of AK-47 rounds.
Of course, the same could be said about certain parts of North America. Point is, as long as we\'re all enjoying videogames and not wandering around aimlessly wondering when the next shipment of food relief is gonna come in, we should all be thankful.
Good luck on finding a decent Importer on the net. I\'ll post some links for some good ones for ya when I come across them.

If you don\'t mind, I think I\'m going to just go ahead and post the link here. Other people may want to check these sites out. Here\'s a good list of them and a small review of each where applicable.

If you don\'t have a NTSC TV and PS2, you won\'t be able to play any of the games imported from America/Japan. I\'m not sure what the standard is over there, so I\'m jus gonna wing it and say your best bet would be to import EU versions of games. If there\'s a territorial lockout between Africa and EU, you could either put a ******* in your PS2 (Bad Idea IMO) or you could use a cheat device such as GameShark or Xploder.

man i thought i had it bad, being a pal gamer, waiting months for games after you damn americans ;) you aint even got onimusha etc!!!!! damn thats bad!!!! well is the bouncer out there yet, cos if it isnt, dont get it if it ever does as its pants!!!
my advice get a usa ps2, and import!!

We play on PAL systems, seeing that we receive all our consoles and games from the UK. I will have a look at the importing of games as it seems the only way left for me to get the a-class games.

What do you mean by left? As in there is no longer a distributer?
Maybe it works different in S.A. to that in Australia. Games are distributed by a distribution company (Ozisoft) not that of the actually developer of the game. I find it hard to believe they arent distributing Capcom and Activision games anymore, I mean, why did they stop?
