Yep. I\'ve used the one foot levitation before. Very simple.
Notice how David Blane gets everyone to stand on one side and bunched together? Then he\'d stand at an angle so that they can\'t see the foot that\'s away from them. That\'s the foot he uses to tippy toe on. And - remember, he\'s usually in a shadow. That way they can\'t see the shadow of his foot holding him up. :D
Remember, there\'s only ONE camera man with him. The camera man is always facing the people to catch their reaction. Next, there\'s another footage from the PEOPLE\'S angle - where you see him levitate about 12 inches off the ground. Where\'d that camera man come from?
Simple.
The editing room! :D
Yes, boys and girls. He will use wires to levitate. Then splice in the footage with the rest of the taping.
TADAAAA!
He\'s a fake. A great conjurer of cheap tricks, yes.....but he\'s no Gandalf.
Oh...and he will use "spies" to slip cards into people\'s pockets and such.

Yeah, I saw that on one of those FOX "Magic: How it\'s done" specials. I think magic is pretty lame now. :)
-
Isn\'t he the idiot who froze himself? How\'d he do that?
-
Yep, he\'s that idiot. :) He just stood inside an ice block for a few days (obviously he wasn\'t touching the icy walls or he wouldn\'t have any limbs right now ;)). When he got out he was either completely dazed and possibly going into shock (as well as extremely numb), or he was a very good actor and a great magician. :)

ive know that levitating trick for a while now!!!!
i like his show, butas the camera is all dodgy, as like looking at the crowd etc, why not do a split screen, like in the film carrie!!!
i do like the trick when he twists all his hand in front of the firemen...do you know the one i mean

I like the trick when he tells a guy to pick a card.. Then he puts it in the deck and shuffles it and throws it at a window.. Then the card is on the other side of the window! That one freaked me out good.
Any websites on this guy? I\'m lazy to search. :)
-
I like the one where he does those "Birthday Clown Tricks" and then....
POOF!!!!
He magicaly apears on prime time television.

Yeah that is a awesome trick! That kinda freaked me out too...

He has "spies" to help him with some of his tricks. The "card through the widow" was helped by actors....acting as innocent patrons inside the restaurant. Sometimes a passerby will slip a card into someone\'s back pocket. After all, cards are thin and smooth. Perfect for setups.
-
Its all slight of hand and illusion. If you know that going in and he does fool you its still a good show..
Knowing its not magic but excellent hand skills I think its awesome. Becuause he is really good at what he does....
-
i like the tricks there he twists his own arm/hand/other limb that should not be speaken of. :p
-
Yeah i\'ve known about that trick for a while too.
The ice block one is simple science. Apparently its warm in a ice block contry to popular belief.

GmanJoe whats your problem? Everyone who likes magic KNOWS its fake, they dont need to be reminded. Every magacian IS a fake, the make their livings faking it. Seems like you got something against the dark arts my friend. Could it be your mad because David Copperfield hooked up with Claudia Schiffer?
-
Yeah but can anyone explain his biting the quarter and spitting it back together trick?
-
It\'s a gimic quarter that you can buy at any cheap magic store.
Then he switches it with a real quarter using slight of hand.
People think that the quarter he hands them is the same one he used for the trick, but it\'s not.

Yokay....just coz I revealed one or two tricks of his, you think I don\'t appreciate the trickster? That ~I~ have a problem coz I told you how he did it and that he\'s no Gandalf? Do you love David Blane that much with all your body, including your pee pee?
Get back to the Ghetto....yo. Back to your bling blingin\' Civic wit da 9 inch rimz AnD PhAt Type R stickerz!
I like David Blane as a street magician. He\'s got one of the best slight of hand I\'ve ever seen. Now....go back to yo minimum wage earning motha and write to yo never home fatha and cry me a river.

I said the racist thing cuz that is the single most thing that pi$$es people off. Works like a charm. See Gman? Every statement has an explanation. Well at least the intellegent ones.

Yeah the dude has some speed of light hands.
I\'ve never considered him a magician though, he\'s an illusionist really.
-
Magician, illusionist, same thing. :)
