Bye Bye Bye: N\'Sync Cut From Episode II
Thu, Jan 10, 02 09:05:01 AM EST
This morning we\'ve received numerous reports that N\'Sync will NOT be in Episode II, with many TFN readers alerting us to this story at Ananova.
Apparently, it\'s true: N\'Sync has been cut from "Attack Of The Clones", being confirmed by no less an authority than N\'Sync\'s Joey Fatone. On the Carson Radio Show on 99.3 FLZ:
FATONE: "I\'m going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it.
CARSON: "Are you serious?"
Click on the link to the Carson Radio Show for an MP3 of Fatone making it publically known: N\'Sync is NOT in Episode II. Thanks to Tom Neys for being the first to tell us of the Ananova story and to Michael Rogers for alerting us to the Fatone interview. TFN will also be mirroring the MP3 in case the 933 FLZ site goes down.
Ah yes...That\'s more like it!

WORD!!!
Hellz yeah, actually good news for once!

I dunno, Leo from the ScreenSavers was talking about this and said that their part was reletively small. They were soldiers in only one or two scenes.. and probably would have been killed. Not that I\'m a StarWars fan, but this news comes as a mixed blessing. On the one hand.. that\'s one strike against the evil that is Boy Bands. On the other.. Man I really want to see them get fried into lil pink puddles of charred goo. Even if it is just a movie.

I really don\'t care if they\'d made it into the finished film. If Episode One is anything to go by, E2 is bound to stink in so many more ways than one. As a Star Wars movie that is. My bet is it\'ll be entertaining and all, but won\'t really have that special something to really pull us old fans in *fingers crossed*

Phew. If N\'Sync was in it, I\'d boycot the movie.

Only way for Star Wars to have that magic that the original had was to go back in time and be 7 again. It\'s a lot different watching these movies as an old fart.

So very true. Age makes all the difference in movies like that.
Sometimes you just can\'t go back to your childhood...

If they didn\'t do that, Lucasfilm would have stooped to a new low...

Looks like it may not yet be final:
Bye, Bye, Bye \'NSync? Not So Fast
Thu, Jan 10, 02 07:54:56 PM EST
The word earlier today from \'NSync singer Joey Fatone was that the band\'s cameo appearances were being cut from Episode II. Well here\'s an article saying the decision ain\'t final just yet. Seems as if the final cut will come from George himself. From E! Online:
"... I\'m going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it," said Fatone, who sounded a tad perturbed about the development. "We\'re not going to be in it, and I\'m not going to comment on it any more."
So can those griping Star Wars fans finally breath easy? Not quite. Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynn Hale wouldn\'t confirm Thursday whether \'N Sync will or will not appear in the final cut of Clones, saying "it\'s just too early to make that decision."
"The \'N Sync guys were shot as extras, and whether they\'re in or out won\'t be determined until the final edit," Hale says.
... His wasn\'t the only heart broken over the casting. Star Wars geeks let out a collective yelp last week when word leaked that \'N Sync shot a scene for Clones, no matter how brief and inconsequential it may have been.
But Lucasfilm rep Hale denies that public criticism will have any effect on whether the boys stay or go from the film. "George makes all his decisions himself," Hale added. "And the final edit of the film is what he determines it will be."
Stay tuned. Thanks to PEZman4 for the heads up!
But let me make this clear to the fanboys out there: If this crappy boy band actually does get to be on the screen for one tiny second with no lines and with hundreds of other extras on the screen as well, IT WILL NOT RUIN THE MOVIE!! Don\'t miss out on what\'s sure to be a great movie for such petty reasons.
