i havent played it yet, but watch a guy playing it for 30 mins, i havent seen the pc version so cant compare...i saw no slowdown what so ever, he said there is a slight bit, similar to red faction, its gone in a second....the bit he noticed it on the most was the dock..havent been there so cannot compare
i could of got this on pc, but id rather play in my room on a comfy chair, rather that at a desk
from what i saw it looked sweet, ill tell more tomorrow once ive played it for a while!!!!

i herd that the controls for max panye are pretty bad. is this true?
-
No the controls are great once you get used to them. It took me a little while, but once you have the hang of it. It\'s a very fun game to play. Controls aren\'t as bad as everyone makes them out to be. It\'s got the exact same control scheme as Halo on X-Box, and I haven\'t heard anyone say it\'s hard to control.
-
I disagree..I think the controls suck either way. IMO, its jus a matter of getting used to them, liking isnt an option for me :)
-
Thanx i just might have to buy that game
-
I wish to own this.. But I\'m a poor son of a ***** right now.. I currently recovering from that flood of games....................... TOO MUCH.... It\'s kinda tough playing 3 games at once, only playing about 1-2 hours a day....
-
well ive played it for a while and its good, not great, theres small amounts of slowdown, controls are same as timesplitters, when in slow mo dive, im finding it a bit hard to target accurately, but im getting used to it, seems good, but only thing i dont like is i get a bit of action then have to wait for the story to load, watch it, its not that i dont like story lines, it that i get into a bit of action, stop, watch a clip, storyline unfold, astion, stop etc!!
i love listening to the gangsters talking to each other, untill i feel them with lead

well if you got a good enough pc, i would say get it on it, im not a fan of playing games on a pc, but i can see when your in bullet time, it will be a lot easier to aim..... its good on ps2, not excellent!!!! im thinking of taking mine back , and getting it on my pc, its only £15!!!!!!! im not sure it will work on my pc though, i cant remeber the power, its just over a year old, was over £1000 when we bought it!!! erm i can play half life on the highest res, do think it will be powerful enough!!???
-
year old PC at that price should be able to run it.....
and for that price you payed it should , remember you can trun down the detail to fit your PC power.

cheers mate, yeah i know you can make the res go down and all, but i want those lovely graphics
how hard is the controls, i can do most fps good, as in halflife, is it harder to control than that??
-
will have to rent it, just to blast it out of my speakers :)
PC version is v good, even better with Kung Fu mod.
Don\'t be put off by hefty specs on the box, I can run it well on P111 450, 256 RAM and geforce2.
-
I ran it on a P3-800, 384mb ram and a TNT2!
On lowest detail of course but it still looked good to me.
Wicked game.

Bad..memories... of that game!
First off, lets address the terrible textures. Compare Max Payne PS2 version with any other version and you\'ll understand where I\'m coming from. The game just looks like crap. Then we move onto the god-forsaken slowdown , that gets worse as the game goes on. By the last few levels you won\'t need \'bullet time\' to slow the game down. Then there is the two "nightmare" levels that should of been cut from the game. Not only are they annoying, they simply don\'t fit into the overall game design.
Max Payne for the PS2 should be avoided. If you bought it, return it and if you can\'t return it , set it on a shelf never to be seen again. Evil such as it should be placed far away. If someone bought it for you, give them the curse back and never speak to them again.
P.S - The controls suck also!
-
i returned it today!!!! gonna get dropship with the money from it!!!!!!!!
slow down was real bad, especilly the further you got in the game the worst it got, controls for running where ok, just when aiming in bullet time they sucked!!!
also the nightmare level where you gotta follow the blood, just plain sucked, i kept falling of at just the lat point, and i didnt like the way you floated when you jumped!!!
plus i though the jumping in the whole game sucked, especially when you had to clear a gap to continue the level, you gotta get it just right, or you die and have to go back ages to the last save point!!!!
might get it for pc as its only £15
