Microsoft has told the world that it will now sell the X-Box in Japan for a mere ¥34,800 ($260 or so), so leaving the UK in the position of having probably the most expensive price tag for the temporarily disabled PC at £299. That £299 price tag equates to $431.50 or ¥57,000.11.

Correct me if I\'m wrong, but I think Europe has a bigger gaming fanbase than Japan does. Which would make sense because there are way more people in Europe than in Japan.

And they haven\'t officially announced the European price yet have they? They could always lower it right before launch like they did with the Japanese price.

They have , and it`s €uro 479 ! That means no Xbox for me anytime soon after launch. I`ll invest my money in a new PC end of next year.

Europe does have a bigger gaming fanbase.

But the U.K. doesn\'t.

and we dont want to pay such a price anyway, just like we did with ps2

What is your point?
The game cube will probably be 199 pounds, which is what around $260 - $280 so it is the same with all stuff.
We always pay more for stuff over here, everyone know\'s it\'s, but there isn\'t anything we can really do about, so don\'t let it worry you, just get on with things.
And if you go on looking at all the prices working it out in the uk to other countries, then you wouldn\'t buy anything.

In the U.S. you would have to pay $380.00 for those. :crap:

The PS2 costed more in the UK too when it came out, it was $299 over in america and £299 here in the UK.
Xbox isn\'t going up in price it is £299 here in the uk the same as the PS2!
So what you should have said was:

That PS2 was the same price, but i didn\'t hear anyone saying what is Sony doing.
If people think the Xbox is good then they will buy it, i paided about £399 for my import Xbox, i have it about 3 and ahalf months before it comes out in the uk, and i am very very happy with it, and i don\'t regret paying the money i did because i am enjoying it very much, and it looks like it is well built.

hell yeah ... me getting a X box was on the cards when i lost all intest in the Gamecube thanks to Zelda and the new 4th member of the power puff girls look.

but i have to say the official x box contoller is going to get diched when i get my X box as its god damn UGLY.... ah well here hopping that there will be some good 3rd party ones.

cant wait to play Halo.....
