Today sources close to Rare told IGNcube that the game is developing at a snail\'s pace. It will allegedly not be ready in time for a 2002 release and, in fact, could slip into 2004. Insiders cite internal team problems at Rare and a general disorganization between the UK studio and Nintendo as reasons for the project\'s slow turnaround.
Ouch. That\'s almost as bad as us PS2ers waiting for Wipeout Fusion for 3 years then finding out it doesn\'t live up to the hype. So if any of you need an understanding shoulder to cry on, I\'m here for you. ;)

My jaw hit the floor!! 2004?!?!...What\'s next? Metroid Prime better not get pushed back that far? WTF...what\'s wrong with Nintendo? Why is that they can\'t get it together?
-
Wow, that is quite a slip.
I\'ll stick with my prediction of Fall 2003, but Rare is just as bad with delays as Nintendo, traditionally, so you\'re right - don\'t hold your breath.

I can\'t believe people thought this game would come out in 2002. Talk about ridiculous.
I can wait though. It\'s not like nothing good is going to come out till 2004.
-
This game will kick ass though. Even when they delayed the Perfect Dark for the 64 it sold a million.
-
yeah but Nintendo if they want to compete should be looking to get out as many big name games as possible as quickly as possible...possibly the biggest game to get the gamecube into the homes of the millions of casual gamers who arent interested in your Zelda\'s and Mario\'s is Perfect Dark... if GameCube doesnt make it to the casual gamers, Perfect Dark wont have a chance to sell millions...
-
Hmmmmmm.......why I\'m I not shocked typical rare/nintendo to delay something. Makes me glad I got that xbox.:fro: :nerd:
-
I thought Perfect Dark sucked. :(
I played Goldeneye wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer before getting bored.
Maybe because I\'m a big 007 fan eh? ;)
-
i had the opposite feeling (of arousal) Serrano...perfect dark was much more silky smooth feeling (against my skin) and i could play with it for hours (uhh...yeah)
but i still got sick of it, i prefer more action based shooters, Half Life was a far superior game to both of them...
-
I cannot believe why everyone is compplaining about halo having 30fps but Perfect dark having below 15 frames
the game had a choppy framerate which made it unplayable + it was blurry as hell
Goldeneye forever
-
why is everyone sooo suprised about this ?
i mean the first game slipped back more times people almost thought it was going to be cancelled.
looks like they could of some friendly advice with the Free radical team to get things moving ...........oooooooppppppppssssssss forgot they fell out with each other

Perferct Dark was for N64
Halo was for XBOX
XBOX is the most advanced system out right now.
N64 is not.
ok? :)
-
thats not the point Im not comparing them, Im just complaining about the fps *****ing these days ,30fps is fine as logn as itbis rock solid
perfect dark was ok with the fps back then right (not for me but for the rest of you peope) Why is halo that bad, because it is on the most powerfull system?
DC was the most Powerfull, yet godzilla from the Japanese launch ran at 20-10fps (you had to see this!)
-
Traditionally Rareware always had a big part in any new
Nintendo console. I\'m don\'t have that impression right now
with the NGC...why is that ? I ask myself... maybe I\'m not up
to date and missed some fab news or maybe...
Anyway, imo Rare should get the Bond license back or somethin\',
they\'re from the UK so they\'re the only ones who can deliver
a good Bond game. Just ditch Joanna Dark. Who needs a stupid
female action hero anyway....blagh the whole concept is highly
overrated if you ask me :thepimp:

Bah! Your not a true Perfect Dark fan. Joanna Dark rules. Speak for yourself man.
And I owned the game for almost 2 years, the framerate was fine. Only time when game got choppy is when your playing with 4 players and +4 sims. Or using explosives in co-op, counter-op modes.
Other than that, the game flowed fine.
-
I had the pal version and it was very choppy
amen to that knotter, Joana looked like an ugly slut
Nintendo fans claim shes hot ..sure
-
I love how fast a thread can get off track. One mintue it is about Perfect Dark Zero slipping into a 2004 release date. The next it is about how Nintendo needs to get their act together. Then we start comparing Halo and Perfect Dark\'s frame-rate (odd). Finally, we touch on if Joanna Dark is a hot slut or an ugly slut (Lets just take a picture of her and put it on http://www.hotornot.com , okay?) . Oh and we can\'t forget, we also touched on having a female hero being over-rated (Yea, Samus sucks... )...

Sorry Metal_Gear_Ray, but I cannot just condone such
an insult toward Miss Dark ;) , on behalf of me. Sure I
rather see women with their hair longer than Joanna\'s,
but that\'s not my point.
I\'m just a fan of the Bond character and I believe Rare is
the only dev up to it. The whole visual styling of PD just
wasn\'t my cup of tea ( design, colour use , artwork etc.),
and I thought the story was kinda over top too.
Also, I think the "sexy female videogame hero/Lara Croft"
concept is getting a little old imo. ( okay, others will tell me
the Bond stuff is getting old.... but you get my point eh ?)
Furthermore I think Nintendo have a very interesting game
coming up in \'Too human\', which is that game with a living
forest.... if I am not mistaken.

I never got the whole videogame hot babe thing. I mean come on they are just a bunch \'o polys who hardly look like the real thing. Even the doa babes look pathetic (\'proportions\' etc) the only one who was actaully good looking IMO was Rinoa from FFVIII
but lets get back on topic, about PD
:D

Perfect Dark 2 will be banged on about by all the Nintendo fanboys... i mean just wait we will have
Timesplitter 2
The next halo game forthe X box
a whle load of FPS on the PC
and they will still say ...
"ah just wait till Perfect dark 2 it Will be the best FPS ever!"
After all isn\'t that what they did yoith the first one on the N64 ........
Even though the best FPS on the N64 WAS and still IS GOLDENEYE
sorry i hated the 1st Perfect dark and they constant delays and the fact that you MUST have the memory upgrade to play it.
Ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrr that makes me blood boil
-
As they always say..... The nintendo difference.... delays..
As long as it\'s a great game there probably wont be too many problems. It seems as though the GC is off to a pretty rough start. I dont really know what nintendo fans have to be excited about... flame me all you want :) I\'m bored anyway
-
 I never said that J. Dark was hot! OMG, she looked like a man. She just kicked ass. I liked her as a character. A british chick that killed people. I\'m sure that Perfect Dark Zero will give her better features cuz\' the 64 had to make "block" people. Joanna should be lookin\' good in Zero.
