Title: Name That Game
Post by: Ashford on January 14, 2002, 10:54:37 AM: I got this idea from the thread about that old arcade racing game.

Rules are simple...

1) Game must be released in at least 2 continents.

2) Game can be for any console, arcade, or PC.

3) Try to provide the developer and/or publisher.

Just describe any game from memory without giving too much away. Whoever answers the previous one right can describe a new game.

Some old game for the NES in which you drove a jeep. It was 2 players. The jeep could shoot a machine gun and toss grenades. You could also fire missiles. After every level, there would be a cinema. Sometimes it was a shot of the jeep and the riders yelling "YEAH!!!" or the riders studying a map and asking "Here?".

I can\'t remember the name of this game. I think it was Konami or Ultra that made it. Could be wrong.

made by Taito for the arcade/SMS. You go around with an axe /sword/etc. killing things trying to save a King\'s daughter. When you die with no continues, it almost sounds like the end of Pearl Jam\'s Jeremy.

Developed by Apogee, it\'s excessive gore went unnoticed by the media while other games like MK was targeted. A good rocket blast would send eyeballs and other severed body parts flying into your blood drenched screen.

Name it. Or try this bit harder question...

Still one of the PC\'s best fighting games, this mech fighter by Epic MegaGames had an almost RPG like upgrade system. The most well rounded and popular model of mech, was the Jaguar.

Hint: Both games are for the PC.

Here\'s an easy one: It\'s a PC game in which you play the role of a young starship captain. The game was made by accolade.

Hint 1. The first game was released on the PC, then later on the Genesis.

Hint 2. It\'s the second game in the series.

Hint 3. Sa-Matra ;)

It spawned 3 sequels.
The 3 was split into 2 parts and only on was released in the US(Bastards).

Nope. :D I guess I was too vague. The game I was think of won best Science Fiction game of the year in 1990. I\'ll let you keep guessing.

There were over 500 stars which you could actually go to.

There are 25 uniquie ships in the Super-Melee mode.

The game was in VGA(256 colors). :) hehehe

Edit: Deadlock is a strategy game. This one\'s an action RPG.

well do you have a fire wall? if not then just go to the two computers and click your way into wormnet. If you do have a firewall, try going to the configuration and selecting firewall support, it might work. Anyone else have the game that wanna get their ass kicked? hehe.

That one is "Mischeif Makers" but i dont know the others. That wasnt actually a half bad game, it had good gameplay IMO.

I have one that none of you will probably get....(it\'s also my favorite game ever)

1.) You play a pony-tailed dude in a blue tunic
2.) You could converse with lots of bizzare creatures....talking elephants, sphere people, "rabbibunnies"....
3.) You had 4 behavoire modes....such as discrete, sporty, aggresive.....
4.) Out on PC
5.) Action/adventure (but more adventure than action)
6.) Really strange
7.) Like, really, really strange.
8.) Slightly cartoony isometric graphics
9.) Spawned a sequel
9.) Didn\'t sell very well, but recieved many great reviews....

Okay, I\'ll throw one in, not a toughie :

Probably the most overhyped fighting game ever, developed by Mirage Media S. C, released in 1994. What was amazing, at the time, were the graphics, but the boasted "hundreds of moves per character" had shrunk to a number countable with the fingers on one hand. The animation was lame too. There was a sequel also, with much updated fighting dynamics and loads more characters, but it sucked hard too. If I gave out what kind of "creatures" were sorting it out in the game I\'d be telling too much.

Another one :

Another beat-em\'up, ported from the arcades by Probe Entertainment and Teeny Weeny Games, Ltd. to the PC (1995) and GameBoy (????). Set in the past, you could play volleyball with people running around the stage, or eat them for extra vitality. Famous for having the most tasteless gorilla in a game ever, whose repertoire included a vile fart move. Had finishing moves much like the MK series.

God that game sucked... horrible response, or maybe it was my cheap computer @ the time. The pre-rendered graphics for the time though was amazing. (I think)

Additional hint: The final boss was a big guy inside a tornado.
