Post by: Rcmdawg on January 21, 2002, 09:36:21 PM
I was at Best buy today and i saw that they had s-video cables for Playstation 2, i was wondering if anyone got has these cables and if they make a noticable difference in quality when playing. Thanks

I won\'t go into explaining them, I\'ll just say they do make a nice jump in picture quality, Component even looks better better than S-Video but unless you have a fairly nice tv I doubt your tv supports it

Welcome to the forums. :)

We have this debate about once a month.

Simply put here is the order from best to worse:

Component / RGB Scart (Europe).
S-Video.
Composite Scart / Standard AV Cable.
RF Aerial.

So i\'d recormend that you buy Component over S-Video.

Well theres nothing wrong with S-Video.

I use RGB Scart because im a European. It produced a great picture.

Very true.

The difference between composite and S-video is quite considerable, and though there is a difference between S and component, it is not as dramatic.
