Sony announced their third quarter results, the sales have increased by 48%. In the videogame section, the sales profit has reached 66.41 billion yen, increased by 62.9% from last year, this is achieved by a reduction in manufacturing cost of the PlayStation 2, and an increase in both software and hardware sales. Over 5 million units of PlayStation 2 were sold worldwide in December 2001. However, sales for PSone are declining; a total of 1.03 million units of PSone were shipped in the quarter, comparing to 3.69 million units last year.

Enjoy, I don\'t have much to add, just thought you might be interested.

PS One sold a million world wide? Damn. That\'s still a lot for a 6 year old technology (technology was probably conceived about 7 or even 8 years ago).

I figured this would happen so I put some money in DVD manufacturing stocks. So far it\'s kept me out of the red for the last two quarters, but not much more considering how much everything else is hurting.
