A few weeks ago rumors started flying that the next Mortal Kombat would be called "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance." Now it is official. ;)
CHICAGO – January 28, 2002 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer announced today that the official title for the all-new, next-generation version of the popular fighting game franchise will be Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is currently in development and scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and other next-generation gaming systems.
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance marks the relaunch of the Mortal Kombat series with an all-new engine delivering punishing action that will reward long-time fans of the franchise as well as next-generation game lovers. The game features intense hand-to-hand and special-weapon combat, secret hidden moves and combinations with deadly body blows and fatalities.
“Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is the next phase of the Mortal Kombat series that gamers have been waiting for,” said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway. “With all-new characters and worlds, never-before-seen features and a totally new fighting engine, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance will set a precedent for all other next-generation fighting games to follow."
Notice how they didn\'t say the PS2, but instead said "other next-generation gaming systems." What\'s up with that? Not that it matters to me really (I\'ll be gone by the time it\'s released), but do you think it is going to make it on the PS2 this year, or will the PS2 version be delayed?

Or something. :) I\'m going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I\'ll probably be leaving near the beginning of the summer (hopefully ;)), and I\'ll be gone for two years. But don\'t worry, when I get back I\'ll visit these forums again (If they still exist then :))
Back to the topic, MK5 sounds very promising. I hope it changes the series for the better and gives Mortal Kombat the reputation it once had.

Nope, I live in the good ol\' US of A. :) I haven\'t got my mission call yet (like I said, I\'ll hopefully be going at the beginning of the summer. :))

I would prefer not to say where I want to go. I do have some places that I think I would love, but I know that even if I get sent to some freezing place like Alaska (I don\'t like being cold), I was meant to be sent there and there are people who need me there.
And the lack of video games isn\'t a problem. I think I\'m pretty burnt out after last fall, and I really need a break. :) And if I really need to play a video game on my mission, there are video games just about everywhere in the world. :D

Nope, MK: Deadly Alliance was announced to be multi-console over a year ago.
