Title: Small observation I have discovered.
Post by: luckee on February 04, 2002, 11:06:13 AM
The *ring type scratches" we ps2 owners experiance and hear about. So far, the only thing I have come up with is that, for me at least, that it only happens when I play ps1 games in the system when it is laying down horizantaly. The games dont get scratched when I have it vertically. Also this has not happend to any of my DVDs or ps2 games in either horizantal or vertical posistions.

Just thought I\'d share that, if its old news..sue me :)

it only happened to me once when my little brother knocked it while it was vertical. he didnt knock it over, but it shook and the disk made a scratching sound...all i had to say was "GET OUT OF MY ROOM!!!" >_<

It could just be some smoke up my butt, but somebody told me that if you turn your PS2 off by using the switch in the back, it could result in scratches on your game disks...who knows for sure.

ive got two scratches...one on SSX but most of the tracks are still playable and a HUGE one on my Tekken Tag CD, so i cant play it at all

it only happens when the PS2 is moved suddenly during a loading sequence.  My PS2 was horizontal while and SSX level was loading and i moved it to verticle BIG SCRATCH

i was wrestling with a friend (not naked Racer :p) and we kicked the PS2 while tekken tag was loading BIG SCRATCH

just dont move it while its loading too much..
