Title: Why won\'t my PS2 play NCAA 2002 anymore?
Post by: OldSchool on February 05, 2002, 08:01:37 PM
Have you guys had this problem?  I have played the game 100 times and have never had a problem (besides the fact that it spins REAL loud in between plays while you are picking plays, but this happens on all my friends systems on this game as well).

Then I got FFX and Ive been playing that for a while.  Well I just went to go play NCAA 2002 and now it wont even read the disk.

As soon as I put it in and launch the PS2 it makes these really awful noises, real loud noises like a PC and then goes to the system setting.  The disk is in perfect condition.

I have no idea why it is doing this and it only does it with this game.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Thanks,

OS

Does it say disc read error on the screen?
If so try some CD/DVD lens cleaner it helped my PS2 for a little while anyways. If this doesn\'t work you might have to send the machine to Sony for some repairs...... It\'s chitty I know, I had to do it too.

Its definitely not the disk being scratched or smudged.  It looks perfect.

Do you have a link for PS2 tech support?

I think he means a LASER cleaner, not a cd cleaner/scratch remover. You can pick up a lens cleaner at radio shack or somewhere of that like, pop it in and it\'ll clean your lens...if all else fails, give Sony a buzz and pay through the nose to get a small problem fixed (unless your warranty is still in effect)

I wonder though.  If something was wrong with the laser wouldn\'t it effect all disks?

The only difference I can see between NCAA and Final Fantasy is NCAA has a purple underside where FFX has a regular silver one.
