So. . . I\'m eating ice cream and I put some chocolate sprinkles in the bowl.
Long story short. . .
I call them "sprinkles," as do most people in the American SouthEast. My ex, native of NorthEast America, calls them "Jimmies." Which is totally wrong.
I was wondering what y\'all call them from where you\'re from.
-
actually sprinkles and jimmies are two entirely different things

Please do elaborate, my ex is determined that they are the same thing.
-
in Australia they are called sprinkles, but the coloured ones are called hundreds and thousands.
Have you tried nerds on your ice cream? I don\'t know if you have them in the US, but they are these small coloured sugar things made by Willy Wonker. We have them at Mc Donalds in the McFlurreys.
They are so nice in Ice Cream.
-
i\'m pretty sure sprinkles and jimmies, are different, but me not being a great ice cream conesiur i wouldn\'t know the difference.

I have a friend that gets Nerds in her Dairy Queen Blizzards!
Nerds are awesome!
Here in SouthEast America, we have chocolate sprinkles and Rainbow Sprinkles. Then we also have Sugar Sprinkles, which are like clear Nerds.
-
Alright...
Sprinkles - Sprinkles
Colored Sprinkles - Sprinkles
Anything else that resembles a sprinkle - Sprinkle
Go Midwest America with our ordinary everything. Woo.

Sprinkles are called sprinkles here. The word jimmies isn\'t in the upstate NY vocabulary. Only time I really hear that word is when I venture over into *shudder* Massachusetts

Does anybody remember the episode of Bevis & Butthead long ago when their coach told Butthead to kick him in the "jimmy"? I don’t recall Butthead kicking him in his bowl of ice cream...

Chump Chump Chump ... yeah. All that valentine candy you got from your woman ... whom you broke up with so you wouldn\'t have to buy her a valentines gift ... *gasp* and buy Max Payne which you still don\'t have money for? Thought so.
Sprinkles = tiny little balls or flakes of candy-ish stuff
Jimmies = the small sticks of candy-ish stuff
