well these suggestions are based upon my opinions so no offense to the administrators ^_^
A) make a banner for the boards
B) put the advertisement banner at the bottom (if you are allowed to because I know some people won\'t let you advertise for them unless its at the top)
C) get some new hacks for the board (unless you can\'t for certain reasons I wont say =p)
D) make some new buttons because no offense but the purple ones look kinda gay =p
well that\'s all that i can think of but I will take a look around ^_^ nice board administrators! and if you need any help making graphics please do ask ^^ but if not no offense taken =p
-
Umm........no. I like the boards the way they are. Get used to them because the admins probably won\'t change them.
-
Lol, gotta love a n00b who comes in and wants major, major interface changes within an hour of registering.
1) The forums are nice, the way they are.
2) The regulars are damn used to the way they are.
3) N00bs don\'t get priviliges till 500 posts, and even then it\'s.... kinda tricky.
-
Seraph has just one the
"Guy with the largest nuts" award.
Dude, get a couple zeros in front of your post count before you come whining about the board.
I think you are right now just above Racer on my totem pole.
-
we like the forum the way it is, silly human

Chit man! Nobody wants to be anywhere near RaCeR on the totem pole. Ya gotta earn your keep here. I have yet to do that and I’ve almost got 200 posts.
-
No offence people, but what is wrong with sombody giving some constructive critisism?
-
- quote "Seraph" -
"D) make some new buttons because no offense but the purple ones look kinda gay =p "
Most of what he said was "constructive". But I\'m sure that the "gay" part wasn’t necessary.
I also think that the members here have a good point in saying he should get a few "zero\'s" behind his posts before making any form of criticisms.
-
Even after making his suggestions, I guarentee that he would never come back. Just like most of the n00bs.

Thanks Man and yeah I said the boards were nice looking, and I also said no offense to the Administrators. Sorry for offering a suggestion when the forum asks for suggestions. You people are uncool and unfair. and I did come back so?
Edit: That reminds me of another thing, get spoiler tags, cause they are always useful.
-
Oh wow, very well done Seraph. Now I have some other suggestions to add to your absolutley wonderful list of suggestions:
A) Post
B) Suck a duck
-
A little advice Seraph, how the boards look doesn\'t really matter at all. Worry about how the people post. That\'s what makes the boards good or bad. And all you can do about that is just do your part, and don\'t post crap.

a few more zero\'s doesnt make his thoughts and opinions anymore valid. Although on the flipside, he would seem to be more credible with more posts...alot more :D
-
ok i can see why yall jumped on him about the criticism
but damn he was just trying to suggest something maybe he had seen in other forums so i dont see why yall are treating him like hes a retard - all he has done is sign up this month instead of 3 months ago - that doesnt make him stupid
-
Heh, I\'m going to go sign up on Team Xobx today and tell them I don\'t like the green color. I would prefer blue.
-
well i dont agree with his suggestions at all
but i aint gonna just flat out diss him because of his post count
it use to piss me off when people ignored me because i had under 500 posts
-
and now you have more posts than even I
-
and we still ignore him...:D
-
yea yea yea
i see how it is
ignore the people that matter
you know ya loves me
ps. mm i passed ya a while back ;) - ive slowed down as of lately but im back on track now that i do nothing at work - its great i get paid to surf the net actually since i never have any work to do :p
-
well if that\'s how you all feel then I won\'t come back anymore. Thanks Sublimesjg, members like you are respected in all eyes. But if I get treated like **** as a newbie then I will leave... It\'s not about the quantity of posts that make you a good poster. It\'s about the quality and so far all I see here is posts full of spam and disrespect in this thread. Well need I say more then? Well sorry for a few suggestions.
-
Thanx but no thanx.. All of the admins can add hacks.. If we wanted too. I think bjorn did add a few.. can\'t remember. As for graphics, again. all of us can do them ourselves. But we like it the way it is. :) Thanks anyway.
-
Yeah thanks man.appreciate people responding in a respectful way. Yeah it was just a suggestion though. but it\'s all cool.
-
The button color is purple matching the colors of the PS2 console......
So, uh, yeah.
-
I agree that the ideas were a bit radical, and somewhat silly, but he probably took the Suggestion board a bit too literal, and shouldn\'t be chastized for "trying" to help.
As for changing the look of the board, well that was kinda radical, but no one should be repremanded so to say, for their ideas....well no one but #racer# my god man, dino\'s and humans living together!! What the hell is he thinking!!
*#Racer# I kid because i love*

I\'m new to this board also and so far I am very unimpressed with the attitudes of posters. Why anyone would think their opinions are better just because they have a lot of posts is beyond me. I have under 10 posts so I guess according to this site my intelligence level is that of a rock and I can offer nothing to the topics. People here need to be more respectful. Everyone here at some point was a newbie so get off of your high horses. This is a suggestion board - the topic starter made some suggestions - You dont have to agree with them. Why cant you disagree or agree with some respect?

You are so wrong. We are disrespectful only to those new people that don\'t read the FAQ and start topics about something that would be answered if they would go to the Main Forum and read the thread about the rules. We don\'t think that we are smarter because we have more posts. You just assume it because I disagreed with you.

Advice to you: this pro newbie arguement NEVER works
People who have been here longer know how things work around here. They don\'t do stupid things like post topics about piracy. Basically, as a newbie, you can\'t go in demanding respect. Rather, go in with the mindset that you have to earn respect to be truely taken seriously. That\'s what I did, and I\'ve had no problems being new here (I only started posting a couple weeks ago). The people who have been here longer have mostly earned respect from one another. Others know whether or not they post well/can be trusted/are intelligent in what they choose to say. No one knows anything about newbies, so they aren\'t as comfortable with you. That means you will be criticized more. Besides, if newbies weren\'t criticized, they may never learn how to best adapt to the message board.

What are you talking about? What did you disagree with me about? What does your suggestion to read the FAQ have to do with my post on people making suggestions under the suggestion board? Unless the FAQ somewhere states that people with under ten posts should keep their suggestions to themselves then I see no relevence in your post.

First of all "piracy" has nothing to do with my post. I posted a question regarding piracy on another board, but I never condoned it or anything else so perhaps you should fully read my posts before responding to them.
Secondly, I\'m not trying to start an argument. I am stating my opinion. It\'s that simple. If you dont agree with it then fine.
Thirdly, just because someone is new to a particular board it does not mean that they are A) a new gamer B) they are new to gaming boards or C) they are new to computers in general.
and finally Fourthly one should not have to "adapt" to a frigging message board. It is just a message board. LoL. I will continue to post my opinions and any questions if I have any. I will not change how I post or "adapt" my posting to fit into the accepted norm around here. That would make for some boring topics if everyone did that.
I don\'t see how anything I have posted is so outlandish as to warrant the type of responses that I have received. I think some of you are just narrowminded and take too much stock into the quantity of your posts. No one really cares how many posts you have. Dont let the fact that this is simply a message board escape you.

Breath deeply.....

Sorry man you just sounded like you were getting a little worked up.;)

hehe... i am fine. Thanks for your concern. I am just bored at work and have plenty of time to kill.

Well it\'s nice to talk to someone that has the same situation that I do. I too am stuck here at work with little to do and find that talking with this brood of mongrels is at best some thing to pass the time. Hey, they don’t mean to be cruel, it\'s in there nature. Besides, there are allot of cool guys and gals on these forums, you just have to get used to them.

First of all, I think you\'re missing a lot here. It, in my experience, is not the number of posts you have that matters. It is how long you\'ve been here, and how you\'ve posted while you are here.
You topic was asking why a topic about piracy was closed, if I remember right. Had you taken the time to read the newbie FAQ, you shouldn\'t have even had to ask. People were frustrated that you were making a topic that was unnecessary, and pointed out that you didn\'t take the time to see the rules here.
As for stating your opinion, that\'s fine. That\'s what the boards are for. But if you are going to support your opinion, you have to be ready to have others attack it. That is how they will enforce their opinion, should it contradict yours
As for your third point, I know it doesn\'t mean any of those things. It does however mean that the people here don\'t know anything about you for sure. We can\'t just assume such things. It makes it even harder to assume such things, when you post topics pointing out how you don\'t know how things work here.
As for adapting, I simply meant that you would learn the rules here, and see how to fit in better. That doesn\'t mean changing your posting style. That wasn\'t what I was trying to say. If you want us to have an open mind towards you, then have one towards us.
One major point still stands from my first post though. Respect has to be earned. You can\'t come to a place where no one knows you, and just demand it. If you post good, interesting posts, it will come to you in time.

I do not believe I am missing anything here. Someone posted some suggestions. That poster was ridiculed for those suggestions. It is one thing to respectfully disagree or to even counter with better suggestions, however, for the most part, he was just insulted.
As far as respect being earned I would think that one would be respected until that respect is lost. Not disrespected until one earns respect. That is backwards logic. I take it you are a believer that one is guilty until proven innocent as well?
As for my questioning the "piracy thread". No where in that thread did it state that the games were copied or illegit. No where on the guy\'s web site does it state the games are copied or illegit. One assumes as much, but that would just be an assumption. My thread was asking if anyone had ever placed an order through that site and if so were the games legit or not. It appears you took the time to read the short title and not the many posts within. Maybe you ought to read them before commenting?
As a result of that thread I was repeatidly bashed for asking a simple question. A question that is not answered in the FAQ. A very reasonable question. If you didnt have an answer to the question, than do not reply. If you do have one then great. How hard is that?
I guess I just need to realize that many of the posters here have the maturity level of the average 5 year old and with that realization I guess I should be able to "adapt". ::rolls eyes::

All I said is that you started a topic that could be answered by going into the FAQ. You started a post questioning why a piracy/advertisement post was closed. The answer is in the FAQ.
Quick question. You don\'t like me too much, do you?

I\'m just curious as to what this has to do with this topic?

The suggestions that the person that started this thread were rediculous. His suggestions were fine but he should have been on for a while to get used to the settings.
-
This is rather ironic.
The newbie comes nobody wants change.
We change anyway. Do we not know what we want anymore?
N-E-Way, the newbie made his point, and it was heard, now we have changes and contest all over the place.

I\'ve never even paid attention to what the buttons look like. Hell, there are a lot of sites out there with better looking buttons, but nothing to read.
Yawn
