So. . . my birthday is coming up (April 1st), and my parents want to buy me a computer for my birthday. So. . . right now I\'m thinking about the Sony VAIO PCV-RX660. Currently I have a gateway and I hate the whole piece-by-pice thing, so I want to go back to brand name hub-bub retail computer.
Anything better than the Sony VAIO PCV-RX660, without going much over $1300???

Well I\'m sure many would agree the best way to get the best computer would be to build it yourself...but most people usually avoid that. But it\'s definately cheaper you can get pentium 4 or amd xp mother board/chips for under a few hundred. But I hear alien ware are good. Most of the really good computers are the ones you gotta special order. STAY AWAY FROM COMPAQ AND HP.

build it yourself
how else can you get all those great components at a better price

Geh, I\'m a fan of the alienware computers... http://www.alienware.com, but it all depends what you\'re going to use the computer for.

Hmmm, I\'ll have to look into Alienware.
I\'m just tiered of my stupid Gateway, and I\'m afraid it\'s causing me to fear the cheaper piece-bypiece computer.

Building your own computer is as easy as changing the oil in your car...well, maybe not that easy. But if you know somebody honest enough to help you out you can get a pretty good computer built for ya for $1300 bones.;)
