I fear what will happen to every other forum on the net now. The GA forums used to get around 100-120 members in peak hours, but now it\'s already at 200+ members! And this is still just the first day (people are still making the transition). What will become of PSX2central.com forums? If we do get engulfed by PS2 fanboys, we need to make sure we put them in their place. :D I don\'t want to see these forums go the way of IGN.
I guess now they cleaned up their server by thousands of users, I\'m sure they won\'t have any trouble paying the bills. But that many users could effect the entire internet as we know it! Ahhhh! :eek: Depending on where most of them go over to, that will probably be the next site to go "insider" on us. It\'s a huge domino effect.
Oh yes, it\'s a good time to leave indeed. :D

IGN is garbage, ever since Daily Radar went under, IGN has been terrible. But the domino effect that you speak of has occured to m too.

Well I used to frequent IGN, but I posted here a bit. Now that IGN\'s gone, You\'ll see more of me here :) Don\'t worry, I\'m not your average, stupid IGNer.

Well if theres anything I remember well about this site, it\'s that they know how to take care of those fanboy\'s. Either that, or make them feel really stupid, hopefully not much has changed, this still remains one of the best boards on the net by far.

On a long 2 year trip. :) But don\'t worry, I won\'t be leaving for another few months.
I am hoping that 2-3 years is enough for this internet problem to be fixed (I really don\'t see how it can be fixed, but I hope someone figures out a way to save it.) If this current trend of sites going under continues, then the last 30-40 years of work making the internet what it is today will all be in vain.

I\'m an insider and those forums can be a joke they still have alot fo cool posters on them with great info to share
but now that they are insider only they should become quite a bit more tolerable

this sucks, i used to read the forums and laugh at all the morons there.
This might backfire on IGN, its traffic will become less and its ad sponsors may start complaining, however they dont have to pay for the extra bandwith
Well I wont be visting IGn anymore, never, that place has more banners than a pr0n site

I don\'t want to turn this thread into another "Where\'s IronFist going?" thread (it might already be too late, oh well ;)), so after this responce try to keep your posts on topic. :)
I am going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (or in other words, I am LDS or Mormon). For those that don\'t know, it\'s a two year trip to somewhere in the world where me and another person of the same religion will go around trying to convert people to our religion. I am hoping that I go someplace where one of you live so I can convert you! (resistance is futile! :D)
I am working hard learning as much as I can so I can be ready, and am hoping to send my papers in in about 2 months. After that, it will take about 2-3 weeks for the presidency of our church to send a letter saying where I will be going. After that, it could take anywhere from a week to 4 months before I actually go (depending on when the letter says I\'m going). So I am hoping to be gone by June, or even by May.
When I get my mission call you guys will definitely know it. It is a huge deal to me, so I will start a topic in off topic and put a link to it in my sig. I will probably change my pic also just to make sure you know. :)
BTW AlteredBeast, there is an interesting thread in off topic about religion, "Something I pondered..." (http://www.psx2central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18752) It\'s already more than 10 pages long though, and is slowing down a little. Maybe you could come post some things to get the thread moving again. :)
If anyone has any questions, PM me, or wait for a couple months until I have that thread in off topic, or you can join the religion thread already in off topic.
Now, on with the thread? Eh, we\'ll see. ;)

Can\'t stand religion but to each his own.
Whenever I hear mormon though I think of the movie Orgazmo, better watch out and not get tempted to do the same :P

Personally, I hate the term "Conversion". IMO, there\'s only god or power with many faces which he shows to different cultures through their history and lore. There really is no conversion, just a change of god\'s face. Most people can\'t/don\'t see that though, and it\'s how Holy wars are started. The BIA (Beauru of Indian Affairs) under the guidance of the Catholic Church was the driving force in the cultural genocide of the native american people. The rich culture and society of many tribes is not lost forever because some holier than thou jackass\'s who can\'t get their heads out of the dark ages decided that anything not "Christian" is pagan.. and should be wiped out. Not only that, up until as recently as the 1970\'s many reservations were nothing more than concentration camps where innocent people were killed, beaten, and raped on a daily basis.. all under the guise of "Helping the ignorant natives" and "Spreading God\'s word". The BIA even OFFICALLY appologized for the atrocities in 1994.
Sides, nothing I hate more than waking up from a peaceful sleep, throwing on some clothes, running downstairs, kenneling up the dogs, opening the door to a blast of freezing cold air only to find.... gwah... fukking Jehova Witnesses!!!
oh.. and on topic. IGN sucks, and so do their forums. I can\'t stand that place, expecially after they started all this "insider" bullsh*t. Viva la Daily Radar! Videogameing\'s finest Gonzo journalizm site!

gaming-age closed it\'s registration so they wouldn\'t get a mass influx, maybe we ought to do the same for a while, eh?

Hmmm... I am not sure about that one. I haven\'t heard anything like that before. It would be understandable if they did though, because they were probably just trying to stop being pushed around. But it\'s not like they were rebelling against the country or anything, so it\'s not very likely that they attacked federal troops.
And yeah, the Olympics rocked. There were more controversial things than ever before. And the Russians are crybabies. :) I am surprised that we did not get attacked by terrorists. I guess now that America is so POed the terrorists have decided to stay under the radar for a while. :)
Fastson, yeah, I\'ve heard that they are a lot slower. The anime forum and other non-gaming IGN forums have come to a near stop with no more than a handful of posts per day.
