Xenosaga is finished, and ready to go in Japan. I like this game, and it looks great. Do you think get it? I do.

PD: I don\'t know how many pics can i post, but they\'re small and take little time to load, so I think there isn\'t any problem ;)
-
Impressive..
I hope they make demo so we can try the game.
-
Wow... looks incredible. Even better than in the clip I saw last year or something.
-
Nice!
that last pic cant be ingame
and gimme some larger ones!
-
looks pretty cool
i cant wait till this comes out and i have it in my hands and am graced again with another great rpg
:p
-
All I know is that the musics are pretty nice. Maybe Mitsuda will become my fave composer now that Uematsu seems to be losing it... yeah right :p
The screens do look good too, yum. Can\'t wait for this one, my PS2 is not getting it\'s regular excercise now that I got a DC with great RPGs, the PS2 needs some too!
Or maybe I should just go get the Suikodens and see if they\'re worth my time... anyways, Grandia 2 kicks asssss, whoo (not as much ass Skies of Arcadia, though)!
-
IMO, the graphics look betta than FFX. Sweeet...
BTW - Anyone remember that thread something like "How do you say Konami?" And we all had to explain how it was pronounced?
Well I kinda got that same problem with this game.. How do you say that? I\'m always saying "X-N-O saga" I\'m saying the X-N-O as letters..
-
can someone explaing the battle system / gameplay in Xenosaga
or give me an idea on how it might work
Hate the Anime charcters, but the game looks interesting for sure

"Xe" sounds like \'Z\' when you say the letter on its own.
"no" sounds like what women tell you when you ask for sex. :p
"saga" sounds like what George Lucas wanted in the Star Wars franchise, but instead cashed in for lame unimportant annoying computer generated characters with long tongues and big ears.

He forbides me talk about that. Sabbat hates internet. He never must know I\'m here.
I only can say that we are the essence of Chaos.
PD: no more questions about this clan will be answered by me.

You know of the Sabbat, but not of the Camarilla and its allies? Or is this another Sabbat ruse?
(Yeah this thread went off-topic real quick.)

Now I understand. By all means, I know Camarilla, Toreador, Voivode... and all the vampire world...

If you find yourself itching for a good read, I encourage you to try the Clan Novels published by White Wolf. 13 books of 13 clans, plus an Anthology to wrap it all up.
-
Thanx mate. I\'ve heard speak about those books many times but I haven\'t found them in Spain... I\'ll try with any online store.
..... yes the pics are really good. Does anyone know when it is coming out in Europe? :D
-

There’s\' nothing wrong with liking a game for the graphics friend. Just because someone likes visual effects more than that of game play doesn’t make them a casual gammer. I have had many friends that talk graphics more than game play and some of them have put me to shame as far as how many games they buy, play, and complete. ;)

You want Battle system info? Here ya go (compliments of thegia):
MonolithSoft has also come forward with the first firm details on the mechanics of Xenosaga\'s battle system, which seems to be a vast expansion on Xenogears\' somewhat simple combat. The three levels of attack, each mapped to a different button on the controller, return, though they are now based on range, rather than strength. The special attack Deathblows are only activated by using the Circle Button attack at the end of a character\'s combo. Moreover, Deathblows are now learned simply by leveling up, so players no longer need to try out every combination until they stumble upon one.
The Ether magic system from the first game also returns, again with some substantial changes. New Ether skills are learned through a "tech tree" of sorts. Each ability has a set of dependencies, and certain skills must be mastered before the player can move on the the higher level ones. Each character has their own unique skill tree, and learning some sets of Ethers will unlock new techniques which previously did not appear on the three. For example, once Shion has mastered Medicast, she\'ll gain access to Medicast Full, but only if she has previously learned the skill Analyse.
Characters still level up through traditional experience points, but Xenosaga throws two more kinds of earned stats into the mix. Talent Points can be spent to directly increase the basic stats of each character. Skill Points, on the other hand, can be used to earn a variety of passive abilities from equipped accessories. These purchased abilities will stay with a character even after the item is de-equipped, so long as the necessary Skill Points have been spent.
Beyond all this, Xenosaga offers a few more innovations to keep the battles interesting. During combat, the GTW (Group Turn Window) will track the locations of all the battle participants. Characters and monsters in the back row cannot be harmed by physical attacks. The window also displays the exact turn order, similar to Grandia\'s IP Gauge or Final Fantasy X\'s CTB Window.
The new Event Slot, also displayed during battle, seems to be intended to add an element of chance to the battles. Each turn of combat cycles through one space on the slot, from normal, to increased critical chance, to increased boost gain, to increased points at the end of battle, then back to normal. Whichever character is acting on that particular turn will then get to take advantage of these conditions.
While the Event Slot may seen unforgivably random, the spaces always cycle in the same order and can be exploited with the use of Xenosaga\'s Boost Gauge. During battle, attacks will fill the gauge. When enough points have been earned, players can spend them to interrupt the turn order in the Group Turn Window and make that character act immediately.

More info from gamespot http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2851654,00.html
Each character\'s agility determines his or her attack order in a battle, which is shown in the "group turn" window in the lower-right corner of the screen. Each attack a character executes will charge a boost gauge, and when that gauge is full, you can use the boost command to make another character\'s turn follow immediately after yours--provided that the other character is not in the group turn window at that moment. Right beside the turn window, you\'ll see the event slot, which displays the "empty," "critical hit," "extra boost accumulation," and "extra bonus points" options. Characters and enemies can take advantage of the fact that these slots change for each turn, so, for example, if your turn comes and the slot is on "critical hit," you will likely induce critical hits when attacking enemies during. The same applies when "critical hit" is in the slot during an enemy\'s turn. In addition to the normal attacks, you can also use "ether," which is the equivalent of magic spells. The game also includes a summons system that features mechs called anti gnosis weapons systems (AGWS). If a character owns an AGWS, it can be summoned to replacing that character during that battle.
Characters earn experience points, talent points, ether points, and skill points by engaging in battle, and you\'ll need to allocate these points in order to learn new spells, special attacks, and skills. The different types of points can help boost different stats, so talent points can be used to help boost your stats such as hit points, strength, and agility, while ether points give your characters the ability to learn spells. Micromanaging these points often becomes quite a hassle, since unlike in other RPGs, you have to manually allocate these points and set the newly learned spells or special attacks to the characters.
When you\'re exploring dungeons, enemies are visible onscreen and will approach and attack you when you\'re in their visual range. Unfortunately, there is no default escape command, so you\'ll have to purchase an item or learn the escape skill to allow your party to escape. You can avoid some of these enemies by luring them into traps laid in the dungeon or by walking (performed by pressing the R2 button) instead of running, since enemies can also detect you based on sound.
While the game\'s environment is rendered entirely in 3D, it doesn\'t let you rotate or zoom in and out, which can be troublesome sometimes. The game also makes use of the hard drive for data caching and extra storage for saved games. In addition, the PlayStation 2 hard drive significantly cuts down on load times. The game\'s graphics and musical composition are solid, and there is plenty voice acting in the cutscenes. Xenosaga also has several minigames that give rewards based on how well you perform. The e-mail feature in the game grants access to side quests and occasionally provides a humorous message such as the one in which Namco advertises its PlayStation 2 shooter Ninja Assault.
