TimeSplitters 2 Online
Now this is big news. While Eidos is remaining completely quiet about its upcoming first-person shooter TimeSplitters 2, very good sources close to Eidos have told IGNPS2 that TimeSplitters is no longer coming out this spring, which is sad and sucks rocks. But it gets better.
The game is practically done, the single-player game and the four-player split-screen death matches, that is, but the new online aspects need some time. Apparently, Sony is trying to line up as many big name titles as possible, including titles such as TimeSplitters 2, for the fall 2002 to bring down the house. TimeSplitters 2 online? THAT WILL ROCK. If Sony doesn\'t announce its online plans in the next month or so, make sure to check out our E3 coverage in May, which is surely when the online plans will be announced.
TimeSplitters 2 online, hhhhhmmmmmm
-
that sounds sweet... although I really don\'t care.. because I won\'t be able to play online anyways...
I hope to get that hooked up though.. Possibly.

*is still wondering why Ajoh blocked him on MSN for no reason*
anyhoo..
Best. News. Ever. :)
-
TS2 going online was kind of expected (why else would they not have a release date anymore when it was originally planned for January 2002 release?) This is very cool news, and will make the game a whole lot funner.
-
Great!!
Now I will be able to spank ya\'ll online! :D
-
It seems this E3 is going to be the best in the last years... and we don\'t know what is the big surprise of Sony that told months ago for E3...
PD: Spanish providers I want to have ADSL in my house!!! Can you heard me???
-
When is the E3, and I really hope it will be online coz Im looking to get a broadband connection by the time it comes out, TS2 is the game I want most this year.
-
It\'s in May, but I don\'t know the exact days... who will go?
-
You have to be in the gaming business to go I think, so I dont think many people here will be going.
-
I can finally show off my Timesplitters Skillz.....yeah right..........thank god I have a cablemodem..........one question will I need something for my PC so my D-link Hub will recognize my PS2?
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:

well this is 1 question in a interview from JANUARY 2002 ISSUE OF PSW in the uk with Dave Doak (Managing Director) on Timesplitters 2.
Q.Was online gaming ever considered,to avoid the legal threat from gamers receiving injuries from carrying televisions round to friends houses.
A."Theres a huge community of people who play games online, but they\'ve spent time making sure everything,s set up right for them to do it ,and it\'s a particularly techie thing, not for the mainstream that play console games", says Doak. "Theres always a very vocal part of the user base that says they want online play, but for all the people, would you like us to spend 20 percent of our effort making online part really good, when only five percent of the people are going to use it?"
and i dont know where IGN got spring from because the game has always been slated for release in august 2002

Everyone online says TS1 is great but my mate rented it and he hated it, I wanted to play it but he took it back the same day. As you know its coming out March 1ST for £19.99 is it worth getting.
-
You\'re mate is whacked in the heads
TS1 is still the king of multiplayer 1st person shooters on the PS2
-
Thats what I thought , thanks for confirming his madness
-
As for the online thing
I have to believe SOny might be pushing Eidos and Free Radical into incorporating some online elments
Timesplitters is the difinitive FPS on the PS2 . Its exclusive and wuld be extremly well receptive by PS2 fans
not to mention that Free Radical could incorporate the Harddrive into the game some as well then !!!!!!!!!!!
-
yes get it, ts controls are weird at first but after a while they become very easy and excellent, you better learn as most fps use them
-
I agree with ddaryl that Sony is preasuring Free Radical Design to implement some online feature. If everyone would think like Dave Doak, where would we be?
I think Timesplitters 2 online would rule. BTW: is this game exclusive to PS2 or not? I heard that it was going to X-box aswell.
-
The game is going to the Xbox as well. Though with online play is another matter entirely (still not sure if there will be online play for the PS2 version. Much less the Xbox version).
-
Thank God its going to be online.
My question is, will the sequel include mouse and keyboard support? Sweet, merciful crap, I hope it does.
-
This is shaping up to be the best game ever. It looks so good, especially if it went online with the possibility of being able to download new characters, levels and weapons. Wow, that would be great!
I\'m off to re buy TS1 on platinum soon, i just cant be waitin much more for TS2!!
-
dude im siked now...the first one was so fun to play with my friends....now i get to rack up the frags against all of you! lol
-
After playing the Timesplitters 2 demo I can\'t wait for the game to get out, online or not I\'ll still be happy, but I\'d be willing to wait just for it to be online, I\'ve got to many good games to play as is
-
Hmm, I guess I\'m the only one who hasn\'t played the first one...:)
