Is it me, or are all and I mean ALL new games(on both PC and consoles either:
.complete crap in every department
.good in terms of graphics, rubbish in gameplay
.are too easy (very common nowdays)
.utterley un-original
.far too short
.too repetive
Not one console or PC game has impressed me in this "generation." 1999 was the last good gaming year in my opininion. We had a few nice games, but not many. Gt3 had nice graphics....but it was too similar to GT2. Devil May Cry was fun till I realised that all I had been doing for 15 hours was pushing circle and killing enemies. Metal Gear Solid 2\'s story was screwed (open to debate, but many others feel the same)...Where is the new Mario? The new Zelda is a joke, too. Jak and Daxter was fun. but didn\'t blow me away like so many games used to (especially in the 16-bit days) Halo was good-shame it\'s the only good X-Box game.......Don\'t get me wrong, there are good games, but no amazing games. Nothing revolutionary. Nothing BIG. Only Grand Theft Auto3 and Silent Hill2 were standouts....why Silent Hill2? Because if was the firt game to make me THINK. Why Grand Theft Auto3? Because it was the most free game I played since Outcast.
I also liked Rez-a new concept for a change. Shame is sold like a turd.
Hopefully something exciting and new will turn up soon.

Oddly, i would say that i kinda agree, but for the most part i dont. Sure gaming has been shorter, non-innovative, a me too kinda game, or a great looking peice of crap, but a lot of games are really good. I have to disagree with gt3 cause i play that game into the ground. Devil may cry for me was great. It sounds like you were playing on easy mode :D . But the game was to shorth for me. J&D was great fun but again too short. Mgs2 to me has lasted. Just running around and sticking ppl up then capping all their limbs except on leg and putting your gun away:laughing: . PLus getting dt\'s to get stelth etc. And i liked the story, it mde me want a 3rd game soo bad. The new mario and zelda games... uhg i rather not. GTA3 was great and to m still is. One game that im playing that i just love is ff10. I cant wait for 11. All lin all gaming has lost its flavour but that doesnt mean that it really out of the scene.

I\'d agree, \'cept a couple games come to mind that disprove this theory, or at least stand out as great games ...
Rez
Maximo
Devil May Cry
Pikimin
OddWorld: Munch\'s Oddesy.

Well, I agree with Rez, and mayby Pikimin, but although Maximo is fun, it is a little more than and old arcade game remade with pretty graphics, and OddWorld: Munch\'s Oddesy just isn\'t very good in my opinion.

i loved munch\'s oddysee
i was a HUGE fan of oddworld 1 and 2
so maybe that biased me

The majority of my gaming time goes to playing PC games online. When you play against other people, a game only has to establish a solid frame. A lot of the rest, such as the length of the game, the difficulty, the repetitiveness, etc. then depend on the people you are playing against. More often than not, you can get some really good games going, and everytime you play, you get something new.

this is the reason i love RPG\'s the most..
its all about the storyline.. as long as it is original.. thats fine by me..
but then again not all RPG\'s interest me.. action RPG\'s generally arent as interesting as Final Fantasy\'s..
eh, its a mixed bag..
confused.. thoughts everywhere.. good points though, its really only rare stand out games that i really enjoy.. last one of those for me was Twisted Metal:Black..
