BATON ROUGE, LA. A Louisiana woman is suing Nintendo, alleging her 30-year-old son suffered seizures after playing video games for eight hours a day, six days a week.
The lawsuit filed in federal court says the man died last year after hitting his head and mouth on a table during one of the seizures. It claims the man never had seizures before buying a Nintendo-64 player in 1999.
His mother is seeking unspecified damages for her own medical and funeral expenses, for mental and emotional anguish, and for her son\'s lost future earnings.
A spokesman for Nintendo is declining comment on the lawsuit. In court records, the company denies any wrongdoing
if this woman gets ONE CENT, shame on nintendo

if this woman gets ONE CENT, shame on the legal system
-
It all started w/sueing Mcdonalds for hot coffe. sigh......
-
****, shame on the law system.
Siezures are a medical issue, and I owned a 64 for as long as it was out, still have it, and I\'ve never had any medical problems with it, and I played it quite a lot.
The fact that this woman is blaming Nintendo for her neglecting the fact that her son was overplaying the 64 and that he was having medical problems is her own problem, and it shouldn\'t be Nintendo. Then again, who knows....she\'ll probably win the suit somehow.
See Yuz.

First thing I thought when I read this as well.
Sew Microsoft a sweater, some time later today that\'ll pop in my head while I\'m walking down the street, and I\'ll laugh, and people will look at me like I\'m a loon. Probably because I am, but what can I say?

Has any body played Skies of Arcadia? At the beginning of the game they post a warning for gamers that the game has some flashy sequences (not exact wording), and that they may cause epileptic seizures.
If this chick gets a dime out of Nintendo’s’ pocket (probably a settlement outside of court), they will probably start putting the warnings on the consoles themselves.

there is a epileptic disclaimer in the console manual AS WELL AS each game manual

Very, very true, but now they\'d have to deicate an entire page, and have a fluffy cartoon animal so that it will draw attention to it. Unfortunately, just making something bold or underlining it will not draw attention to the words anymore. We\'re all graphic oriented, stupid people.
Oh, I forgot about italisized!

Man MM, you set me str8 again. I didn’t know that they posted the disclaimer in the books of EVERY game. That of course is due to the fact that I skip over the first few pages to get to the opening dialog or game play instructions. Thanx man.:D
-
yea i dont see how she can get any money at all if their is a warning and disclaimer in the front of each game and console manual
i mean thats like smoking cigerettes and sueing them for killing my dad or something
thats not the way it works and i doubt she will get a dime
anyway i swear those people from baton rouge are so weird :D *wait a sec*

In a country where illiteracy is tolerated, not knowing that cigarettes are bad for you can easily be explained in a court of law.:smokin: :smokin::smokin::smokin:

You got that right. That explains why they are made rich by the justice system, made poor by the state lottery, then found on the local street corners sitting in a pool of there own p**s and vomit!

If your 30, living with your mom, playing a 64 for that much time a week....
You should be sued.

Maybe I read this wrong, but the mother of the 30 year old N64 player that was living at home still is the one suing Nintendo, not the other way around.
