I was sitting here just thinking back to the days when parachute pants and leg warmers were hip on the scene. I also remember why I was glad to see them go...but that’s beside the point. I wonder how many of you guys and gals lived back in the day and were old enough to experience a little ditty called "break dancing".
Oh yeah baby, I could never say that I was an expert, but I did know how to cut a mean rug. I would venture to guess that there are some old schoolers out there that attempted to do the "centipede" and got a pinch on their little who-ha! The worm was a funny little move too.
Was anybody a dancing king or queen? I hope so.:thepimp:

Well, if your talking about the Skidz that have wheels on them...probably not.

But I will say this...Where the h**l were these kick-*** shoes when I was a kid, Chit man - my generation missed out!:D
-
I\'m talking about those ugly pants that had the "slippery when wet" road sign patched onto the back pocket. They always came in multiple bright colors and were baggy and made of real cheap material.
-
Yep! you got my vote then friend. :fro:
-
I never got into that. I think I was in 7th grade when that got huge. My buddies all had their own card board boxes that they cut up to do break dancing on their driveways. Man, that was sad. I didn\'t do it, not cause I didn\'t want to, but I sucked. I couldn\'t figure out how those people kept spinning.
Parachutte pants were ridiculous. I never got into that, but I remember how loud it was changing classes when it got big.

oh man i was all about the breakdancing.
and i was good too.
-
Does anybody remember the movie "Breakin"? Now that was T*TS!:nut:
-
WELL SH!T YEAH I REMEMBER IT!
man i lived by that movie, i watched it like every fricken day
-
Guilty as charged.
I got pretty good at it as well. I believe that my father has video evidence somewhere, I guess I should scour his basement for it next time I go over.
My friends and I didn\'t follow the mainstream popularity of break-dancing, and continued to "break" even when it became passe. Remember the movies "Breakin" and "Breakin 2, the Electric Boogaloo"?
For shame if you do.;)
Thankfully Metallica\'s "Master of Puppets" was released and I became interested in long-hair, leather jackets, and girls with "Harley" purses. But that only lasted for a couple of years.

Shoot man, that movie has got to be on DVD. Gotta find it and gotta get it. I like getting some of the movies that helped define who I am today.
My brother and I used to tape a bunch of cardboard to the garage floor and practice our moves after school. Had to impress the ladies you know! Chicks dig the dance moves man, you gotta know this?!
:fro: :hat: :thepimp:
-
you know it!
me and my buddy robbie would watch the movie then put cardboard down in his basement and put on some Herbie Hancock.
-
Oh Yeah Baby! I will own the movie after all!

In my school, you got your a$$ beat if you dressed like that fairy.
(there were only 2 black kids in my whole school!)
so they weren\'t very tolerant. The breakin\' thing lasted all of a month. Then it was back to Van Halen shirts and mullets.

Unfortunately mullets seem to be making a comeback. I spot 4 or 5 everytime I go to Walmart. My girlfriend and I keep a running score of who has spotted the most mullets during each outing.
Whats worse are the femullets(female mullets) and the baby mullets(the poor unfortunate toddlers whose parents get them mullets).

you shop at Wal-Mart!

That\'s why he spots so many mullets!
And I just gotta say, why the heck would anybody in their right mind want to put their kid through such pain by giving them a mullet?!

It\'s almost as bad as K-Mart... *shudders*
Anyway, any parent who gives their kids mullets must be punished.
