Are there any investors here? If so what do you invest in? For example, what individual stocks do you own? What mutual funds or bonds do you own? Real estate? IRAs? 401k? Money market? CDs? Do you employ a financial consultant or a broker?
I know these things seem boring or dull to some, but watching tickers can be quite fun when you\'re at work with nothing else to do.

I don\'t normally get into subjects like this due to the fact that they are on a more personal note, but what the heck.
I got a 401K through the company I work for. My investments are through Pain-Webber and Fidelity. I had some small time coin options through a consultant a while back but I haven’t kept up with them as much as I should. Iv\'e heard word that gold might not be a bad way to go but it\'s not like I haven’t heard that one before. As for stock options, I have been getting into that arena a bit more and more since that of late, and I am getting addicted.

The stocks can definitely be addicting. I wouldn\'t ever invest in gold. Seems a lot of older people like to invest in gold because it\'s something that you can actually hold and see what you have invested in. 401k for me is my best option for investing because the company I work for provides a match which means free money and also because of the tax benefits. Unfortunately because of my 401k, I cannot legally open a traditional IRA, so instead I have a Roth IRA which I try to dump a little bit of money into when I can. In bonds, the treasury department has a web site where you can purchase 50 dollar face value EE bonds for $25 each. Theyre a pretty secure investment but I havent gotten into that much. I dont have anything in money market. I dont have any CDs. I have a corporate bond fund but its just real small. I am surprised there arent more investors here. It\'s a lot of fun and you dont need much money at all to get into it. One thing I would like to get into is a good DRIP program where you can buy stock directly through the company as low as like $20 a month and save brokerage fees. All dividends are reinvested so that your total investment can grow faster.

My portfolio sucks!!!! Actaully its not doing bad, its still up 120% but thats down from a month ago of 350% I need it to go back up so I can sell most of it for my house purchase..
But it is addicting. After I get my house all set, most likely start investing again the start of next year!!!

Hey, don\'t forget that your purchase of a house is an excellent investment. Due to some new houses going up in the area where my house is, the market value jumped 35,000 bucks. And yes...the taxes jumped too. But a house is a great way to go.
Has anyone ever heard of Dave Ramsey?

My stocks blow. My 401k dropped by a lot. Why do you have to bring this shizit up? I am now depressed. Actually I do have a stock now that I really like. Problem is I first invested in it when it was at 40. Now it is at 20. I\'ve bought a bunch though at 12 so when it goes back up it will be great. If you want to look at the company, it\'s called Echelon. ELON. They have hit every projected mark and really look to make some major cash next year.
My 401 is through Vanguard. I don\'t look at it because it depresses me. I had over 40 grand in it before all the crap hit the fan.
