It averages out to about 157k software sold...

.. uhh, nevermind
the website actually said how many consoles were sold

They\'re all always different...and sometimes by as much as a million or five in PS2\'s case.  Someone quotes 28 million, another quotes 23 million.  Who can you believe?

I\'ll wait for official, and I\'ll bet exaggerated, numbers from MS...either way it doesn\'t matter.

These are the first numbers released for software,
and you must be kidding if you think they will be drastically off..

EDIT:
But.. your welcome to think what you want :D

Whats sorta interesting,
Dengenki went in and compared launches... they showed the post launch sales
and questioned if the xbox can sell after launch

Also,
the xbox is now up against Xenosaga (today)
and Onimush 2 next week

As much great mud as this digs up to throw at the Xbox fanboys... I gotta say I\'m dissapointed. I would have hoped that Xbox would enjoy at least a moderate success in Japan so as to stir up more competition in the industry. Oh well, time will tell though. Here\'s hoping...

but ill think you find that even RR5 (although not the best racing title on the PS2)

still out sold PG in Japan over the same period of time.

selling 14,000 titles in a region like Japan is laughable.

esp when you consider there are PS2 titles that sellover the 1 million mark in the first few days if not hours (like FF10 and Gran Turismo 3 a spec).

That\'s why I\'m scared...when "crap" sells more than a nicer game..."Zombie Gamers" are dangerous for videogames...I really hope Jap will open the eyes...and I feel it\'s going to happen...
...XBox needs a starter...and MS are doing the best they can...let\'s cross our fingers...we need competition dear 007!

true i mean with out competition the PS2 would still be selling for its launch price.

Also don\'t knock the ..."Zombie Gamers"

i mean most of them bought Ridge Racer 5 because they where lotal to the name and loved the previous games.

after all with out ..."Zombie Gamers"  the people who made Tomb raider would be jobless and out on the street begging for money ;)

I think its more..
During the ps2 launch in japan there was very little choice in games... the xbox is up against 2 consoles
