Title: Take a look of my last 3D designs! (warning, 3 pics)
Post by: Seed_Of_Evil on March 02, 2002, 09:15:32 AM
Here you are my last 3 designs. I\'m still learning, so expect major improvements with the time. They\'re made with a 3D Max Studio accesory, and took me some hours to finish. I have a couple more but server doesn\'t allow me upload... anyway I think they\'re sufficient. Please tell me my mistakes and your critics. I wanna learn!

Great, someone into those 3D desighn programs.  Maybe u can answer my question I had earlier.  Where can I find the World Builder 3D software, it\'s about 1000 dollars but well worth the price. I\'d rather buy it at a store if I can then to get it online.

Thanx kopking for take a time in see the pics. The first one has that colour. The rock is light brown so when the camera is near to objetive the brown seems to be "more orange".

The second pic suffered many changes along the developing. In the beginning the land was a bit more "yellow"... and the water wasn\'t changed as much as it needed. Anyway, I think that the water is still cool (the next time I will take care about this).

The third pic hasn\'t got mistakes? jjeje there will be some...

:p

They took me some hours... don\'t how many exactly. Fastson knows how hard is this, don\'t you?

the last one, the only thing i can see is the land nearest, i think should be less green,i mean not as dark green, more closer to the colour of the ones behind it, abit more greyer!! hope that helps!

very cool though

you in design, im studying a higher degree in engineering at the mo, but i work in design, using auto cad, but im only in 2d at the mo, i wanna go into a 3d course, im gonna try and get work to pay for me

I know what you wanna mean kopking. The texture is almost the same in the first mountain and the second. The matter is that in the pic there is atmosphere and it\'s a bit dense... I also added a little soft dust. The result is that the 3d engine makes "light" the final environment colours of the objects. If you look at an extense territory in a normal day, you\'ll notise that the land is more light in the end... or even almost white. It\'s the atmosphere. Thanx for your advices :)

PSX_J I don\'t use that program, and I don\'t know where purchase it either. Sorry.

It\'s alright, it\'s one of the newer programs I think and is becoming higly poppular.  I\'ve seen some amazing things done with it.

Excellent pics! May I suggest some blurring or less sharpness near the water\'s edges? I too am an artist...a sketcher actually, since time is quite short for such hobbies(painting will have me too involved and secluded).

The sun glares on the water make the "lakes" look as if it\'s not with in the land....almost detatched, if you will.

They are very good Adan, I love 3D Studio Max, takes a bit to get used too, but it rocks when you can produce stuff like that.

I will have to show you some of mine.

It looks like some of the CG quality I seen on videogames fmv.  I think the third pics rocks.  Look almost real except the glaring is kind of overdone.  Do you have a major headache doing these pics?  They looks somewhat complicated to me.  People who done this, how long have you been doing this?

Hey Adan nice pics!!!  I\'m into that kind of stuff too, I won\'t judge or give advice. From one designer to another peoples opinions on your work shouldn\'t influence your work. If you understand what I mean by that.

If you would like to see some of my terrain work visit this link

Those were some of my first ones, I have many I just haven\'t posted yet. One I\'m still working on, been working on it for a month now. So I know how time consuming it can be. Keep working on it and plz share more pics :D

Luckee I\'m thinking something about your prefferences... very hard indeed!

Dajo4 your pics are nice too. Are the cars also designed by you?

I don\'t know the current version of 3D Max... now there are a lot of them... in 2 years they\'re released at least 3 or 4 different versions of the program. I\'ve R3 one... it is not the latest but it\'s good.

Money? jejeje... a lot mate, a lot.

$8,000? Nope! Here about $1,200... it\'s depends of the version...

That\'s the Student Version. There\'s a professional level kind that offices use.

Of course, 3D Max knows that only corporate offices can afford such things so they won\'t mind an individual like me owning one. :D

:D

I\'ve R3, that is a proffesional version and it cost me about that. Anyway I don\'t exactly the price versions.

So...is it hard to learn without the...ahem......manuals?

not that I robbed someone.....or stole this from a store. Nope. Far from it. Let\'st just say that 3D Studio Max I have was.....um.....in my hard drive for no reason at all! :D

So...will a beginner like me, zero experience, have a difficult time?
Title: Take a look of my last 3D designs! (warning, 3 pics)
Post by: Seed_Of_Evil on March 07, 2002, 12:20:55 PM
In the beginning I got a piracy copy of an early version. Actually I learned a lot with it... but after releasing this last version I have, I decided to boy the original one cause in programs like that it\'s important to have the original: errors and failures in copies are very common.

If you\'re neebie in this world, try to buy a couple of 3D Max User\'s Guide. They teach a lot, believe me.

And time and pacience. :p

Looks great Adan, especially the 1st and the 3rd ones.
I\'m mainly a Photoshop guy myself, although I did alot of messing around in 3dmax back in the day, I recently decided I wanted to get back into the 3d game so I got me Maya (yeah that\'s the best program to start with :p)
