Ok people. I purchased my PS2 in April of 2001. I play in moderation, not all the time, maybe 20 hours a week. I now have this message "disk read error" message when I play put a disk in the console, not to mention this happens to all of my DVD, CD\'s, and any playstation platform game. Is anybody experiencing the same problem. I have been through these forums and nobody has created a thread that I saw regarding this mainstream widespread problem that playstation does not want to admit to. They have been kind enough to pay for repairs, while I have to send my PS2 game console into California for rework.  Well if anybody has the same problem just speak. But I shall say it was like pulling teeth for them to get me a waiver or I would be spending $124.40 for repairs to my $300.00+ machine. LOL. TFF!

it may be that you need to clean your cd lens

thats usually the problem - you can get a cleaning kit from most places and when that doesnt work it means you have to send it in

Since I can\'t play my PS2, I think i will be posting to get soem kind of feedback. Sorry bout that all. I got it posted in main forum.
