Yep.

eight hours a day, six days a week....good god!!
people are always passing on the blame...I\'m assuming the 30 year old had problems anyway. Why didn\'t she just take away the N64?
Anyway, there\'s a disclaimer in every manual about this very thing...I hope she doesn\'t get anything...
-
I can\'t think too many games from N64 worthy of 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.
PSX, NES, SNES, Genesis.....yea....but not N64.
-
Question marks all around...:surprised
-
It\'s obviously a scam. There is, in FACT, not enough good games from N64 worth that many hours of play. She bashed his face into the table. That\'s all there is to it.
Well....maybe Ashford did it. :p

In defense for Nintendo:
They are most likely gonna appeal that lawsuit cause when they go to look for anything Nintendo did wrong, they are gonna feel pretty stupid once the lawyers start looking and they see in find bold print in each and every manual for the game "MAY CAUSE seizures."
Let Nintendo do the honors to the mom, "Open mouth, insert foot"
-
They have no case. Nintendo didn\'t force this dude to play it\'s gaming system. It was his own choice. Case Dismissed.
-
This is retarded, that kids mom must be a phsyco who just wants to find an easy way to get money. That kid\'s problly back at home playing his 64 right now.

You just described 50% of Americans.

Problem is in the USA suing people has become a lucrative passtime. As long as she\'s reasonable, she will get a big out of court settlement, because Nintendo will look at this and say, 1 year of court battles, which we will almost certainly win, will cost us 300k, in lawyers fees. Settle out of court, for 80k. Done, and done.
Problem with the US system is that you can sue for things like mental anguish, in the millions of dollars, and get them. Here in C, you can sue for pain/suffering (very small amounts though), but not mental anguish. It\'s also much more difficult to file/win such a case here, so nobody sues anybody over trivial matters.
PS - If the kid did die, from his 48 hours a week of N64, it isn\'t trivial, but suing Nintendo over it is.
-
ok lets all get one thing straight though
its not a freaking kid that this happened to
its a 30 year old man - hes old enough to be ps2_girls dad for chrsit sake :)
and i think the lady should get nothing - she should have known from times before - this wasnt the first seizure the guy had - he had them before - so like why didnt she think to keep him from playing the dang games
i swear stupid lady from baton rouge, LA - i tell ya it explains everything :p

"His mother is seeking unspecified damages for her own medical and funeral expenses, for mental and emotional anguish, and for her son\'s lost future earnings."
 You have to be kidding!!!! Ok we all know this isn\'t going to go far in court, but I have to ask a few questions anyway:
1) The mother is seeking funeral expenses? Who died? Oh wait when she dies... so Nintendo has shortened her life - interesting.
2) Her son\'s lost "future earnings". The guy was playing 8 hours a day and six days a week... that sounds familiar... oh yes that sounds like a JOB! Did this guy even have a job? I doubt it. First of all he is 30 yrs old and living with his mother, what does that tell you. Also, he was probably too busy playing Nintendo to go look for a job... future earnings
-
Hmmm, this thread looks awfully familiar......Oh yeah, *looks through past threads* Here it is.

ummm the man died actually thats who
he died from hitting his head on a table or something when having another seizure
so thats why she wants that - but i still find it bogus so dont get me wrong
-
Reason he didn\'t have a job because Nintendo puts subleminal messages in thier games.
*Must stay and play game.......* :sconf:
