I bet you wear a fake Rolex that you bought off the streets.:D

I\'ll look around for you, but I haven\'t noticed anything in the past.

Win98 "trusty"????  What alternate universe are you living in?

Every time my Win98 SE installation crashes or freezes, I want to pour mo-gas in the PC case and burn the damn thing down to nickels.  Then I remember it\'s the OS, not the hardware.  I have Win2000 installed on another partition, and it runs rock steady.  Why don\'t you scrap that Win98 and just switch to Win2K?  XP is unproven as far as I\'m concerned.

I\'ve tried a couple of shell replacements similar to windowblinds, but they were highly unstable.  I can\'t recommend that course.

The only stable one is StyleXP (XP only) since it uses built in skinning abilites in XP, WindowblindsXP does the same thing but StyleXP doesn\'t slow the system down as much.

Style XP is great.  And they have a style for Mariah Carey.  Oh heaven.  Wait, I forgot, she\'s a fat pig...

I\'d still put my bacon in that oven.

But back on topic, If you\'re running Win98 you\'ll enjoy 2000/XP so much more.  Well , 2000 anyway I can\'t speak for XP, I never used it.  But supposedly it has the stability of 2000.

Dont consider WinXp if u dont have at least 512MB ram. For me, Win98 works just fine :) Win2k is too unstable when it goes to gaming.

I\'m running XP pro at home and me rikey. (except for the whole big brother aspect of windows media player...)

sometimes software compatibility is a prob, (even though it\'s built off of NT....)

For the wmp problem:
Open wmp8 go to Tools>>Options then untick the "allow internet sites to uniquely identify your player.

The software compatability
Go to the programs .exe file, right click it and go to properties>>Compatabilty check the "Run this program in compatabilty for and the make your selection.

If you system is running slowly:
Get a program called TweakUI, disable the animations in all menus and all  fading.

You just have to tweak your system until it runs like you want it to, there are so many tweaks out there you would be amazed.
