Saw John Q today. Without giving it away, let me say that Denzel Washington did an awesome job. It was very believable and made for a really fantastic story.
What\'s with all these great movies showing bad things from our society, though? Makes it hard to be happy when driving home afterward.
Still, awesome movie. Anyone seen it?

*Spoilers*
I felt the ending was far too light on the senses and the dark nature of the film was just sugar coated far too much. Denzel is a great actor and the story does show promise, but this is too much of a "hate our health plan/government" film. I know it\'s rough, but that\'s life really. I don\'t feel people should be suffering at all and that people do deserve the best care possible regardless of financial background, but this just sugar coats it far too much. I feel for denzel, and in his place, I just might do the same thing, but even then, in real life, there is no way that I could make it out of that situation with such a light sentence, no matter how much of a moral man I am.
I think it would have made for a more meaningful story if Denzel actually had killed himself rather then "outsmarting" the system by taking hostages, and getting a mere 2 year slap on the wrist for his efforts. It\'s a tough story to take in, but that was the wrong message to convey to a rather suseptible audience.
