:rpissed: I know people, or lets just say I got connections to some muggs who read up on kazaa and found out that the newer version notes every keyboard stroke and adds comands to your registry file!!!! :rpissed: Those freakin, back-stabbin, no sputtin, good for nuttin, two\' timin\', rack-brained, triple-stacked spies!!!!!!:rpissed:
:shy:OOps, got carried away, eh. Sorry guys :o
Well, who agrees ??
-
Agrees with what?
It\'s long been known that KaZaA makes use of spyware.
-
I uninstalled KaZaA a looong time ago.
I made a topic about it and warned you guys before..
Download AdAware from download.com and let the program scan your HDD for Spyware software and spy-cookies.
AudioGalaxy is a spyware aswell.
Im not sure if Morpheus is. (though its bunduled with a spyware called Gator)
-
I downloaded AdAware a while ago, but it doesn\'t come up with Kazaa when I scan for spyware. Is there anything I\'m doing wrong or something?
-
Ok, first off u got to carried away with using colors in ur post.
Second, switch to Audiogalaxy, you\'ll find any song u need and what not, they have boards after every song or band so u can have a posting frenzy and piss ppl off

Same question I got..
-
Morpheus was the only one of the fast track based p2p programs that didn\'t force some spyware crap on tge user, but Morpheus has sadly switched to Gnutella, and me....rather than going to kazaa went to grokster and disabled to crapware in it.
-
Doesn\'t Morpheus 2.0 use two networks?
-
get WinMX, very simple, seems to have no spyware on it. Makes use of a list of different servers. Not as beautiful to look at but it works fine for me.
-
Morpheus is the only one without spyware, it no longer comes with gator, btw.
Morpheus shared the network with Kazaa and one other company, and those two were mysteriously bought out by a huge, front company, in europe. Nobody can trace the company that bought them, but sinze Kazaa\'s creators had been hit with a 30k a day fine untill they shut down the network (which they couldn\'t), most people now think the purchasers were the RIAA. Now they can see and log what you share and download easily, if that\'s the case. Wait for Morph 2.0, which will reinstitute it\'s own supernodes, and use both the new and old GNU networks.

kazaa= spy= i dont give a ****.
but what i dont understand is why PS2_girl is so upset.
maybe she has something to hide ;)
-
This is old news and hardly worthy of a post. well i use winmx and i have grown to like it so im not getting rid of it. I used to have kaza but i got rid of it a while ago. ^ I also wonder why one can be so upset over such a simple matter. Things like this happen all the time.
-
What exactly is the big deal about the spyware?
Is it always running, or does it only run when Kazaa is opened?

It was supposed to use both Gnutella and Fast Track, however, according to Kazaa people they forgot to pay therir bills.....so the got booted.
So currently (and hopefully not permanetly) they\'re gnutella only. Heh and the trouble doesn\'t end there, it turns out that Morpheus\'s Gnutella is just a ripoff of another openscource client called Gnucleus.
M4, about the spyware, some of them run all the time, and some don\'t. SaveNow.exe only runs when Kazaa is running, you might be able to see a small box in the upper left corner when you have Kazaa running, that\'s another spyware proggie. There\'s a bunch of\'em.
As I said in my previous post, I currently use Grokster which is a hell of alot better than the devil.....errr I mean kazaa. It\'s another fast track based p2p proggie and was the 2nd best (to me atleast) after Morpheus. It comes with some crapware but they can be easily disabled (I\'ll find the link somewhere). And you can just move you incomplete downloads from the My Kazaa folder to the My Grokster folder.
:)

Hey, its a small price to pay for FREE MUSIC guys. Come on!
-
hell, even windows has spyware.
everywebsite you ever go on (with IE) is recorded. You cannot access these records, or delete em through clearing your cache. or temp files. You can only delete em through starting up in DOS and knowing where they are.
*sarmcasm* w00, go MS! */sarcasm*

And everytime you visit a page in Netscape 6 that info is sent to Netscape HQ, seriously you type in the address then hit enter or press the go button (which ever you prefer) and the browser first contacts NS then it contacts the desired page
-
Were being spyed on all the time. I wouldn\'t worry about it too much.
I use audiogalaxy.
-
I dont care, I have nothing to hide.
-
I would highly doubt that the info would do much. Especially with the million plus people that use Kazaa.
