Looks like SONY will be selling just the adapter alone without the hard disk to get people move to online gaming.

What do you guys think of this?

IMO, they\'re doing a pretty smart move. They\'re encouraging people to get online by paying a small amount for the adapter only without the hard disk. As we all know, there really hasn\'t a console gadget that has been successful in the history of videogaming and people aren\'t likely to pay a bomb for a console add-on. Thus, they give some excuse on the hard disk like "dvelopment issues"..yadda..yadda.. and so on but what they really intend to do is to get people buy the adapter first and get online. Without the hard disk, some of the features and flexibility will not be there but still can make do with the memory card.

Anyway, online gaming is not my priority, but i just think it\'s a great move by SONY not forcing people to buy an adapter+HDD at the same time and killing their own online plans.

Yeah..

I think they\'ll wait until there are more games out that\'ll make use of the HDD.
I reckon the HDD will be out a few months later after they release the BBA.

BBA will cost $39.99.. A good price. (It has connections for modems (v90- 56.6) and a Ethernet port)

Maybe people will get the BBA first and see the content Sony offers and get the HDD.

I also think Sony is waiting for the price of a 40GB HDD to drop so they wont need to sell it with such a huge loss.

Im going to get both sooner or later anyways.
