Post by: Ryu on March 17, 2002, 12:50:41 PM: The bodies of the players in counter-strike are divided up into polygonal boxes referred to as hit boxes. In each box, damage is dished out differently. A leg shot won\'t take off nearly as much as a body shot, and a headshot, depending on what gun you are shot with, is a very strong hit that takes off 50 health to 100 health killing you. The hit box sizes have been rumored to be incredibly high, but I don\'t feel it is. I think the cause of so many headshots is the randomness of the gun shots rather than the actual boxes themselves.

BTW CS 1.3 isn\'t the "kiddy version". The hitboxes are fine actually (don\'t believe me? open up one of the player models in HLMV and check the Hitboxes box). I bet you\'re one of those llama b1tches who whine about everything when a new version comes out. Cheaters in every "room"? Join a server with no cheaters. Like the one I\'m an admin at, The Official CS-Radio Server. IP is csradio.recongamer.com:27015 .

That\'s why I said IMO. To me it\'s more fun and there are less lamers (at least to my experience). And so what if the CS community is larger? If I\'m having more fun at another mod I don\'t care about the CS community. :)

BTW, DoD means Day of Defeat - a WW2 mod for Halflife. Check out http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com

Im not one of those who whine about every new thing..
I played CS before 1.3 came out and it was much more fun.
You take way to much damage in 1.3..

I can snipe with a pistol for gods sake!

Sammy is right. DoD is much more fun.. :D

You don\'t take more damage in 1.3 than you ever did. Its exactly the same. And sniping with a pistol? You could always do that... if you have incredible aim.
