How do you guys file your taxes?
What\'s the best way to get the most $$$ back?
-
Get an accountant. Unless of course you don\'t make much money or you don\'t have many write-offs. I just started with an accountant two years ago and it\'s just so much easier. They make you plan your taxes so you don\'t get much back which is great. That means you are maximizing your income throughout the year. You don\'t want a bunch of money cause that means the government held it making interest on it when you can do the same.

I just do mine myself. Doesn\'t cost a penny and only takes a few minutes.

I\'m not earning enough money yet to worry about an accountant. I need to get away from the company I am working for and move into one that I can use my experience to move upward in.
I get too comfortable when it comes to jobs. I need to start climbing.

If this isn\'t your first time doing your taxes you should get 2 packets in the mail (one from federal and one from state) about telefile. This is just an alternate way of doing your taxes by calling in instead of through snail mail. I got my return lightning fast AND just our of curiosity I did my taxes the old-fashioned way on the 1040EZ and my return actually turned out to be LESS on the 1040 form than through telefile. Go figure.
Video nice tip, didn\'t think about the gov hloding my $$$ and them collecting the interest rather than me.

Yeah, I usually use Telefile, but I wanted to make sure there wasn\'t a better way that I was missing.
I also got married last year and I was wanting to know if I should file together or separate. I can\'t use Telefile if we file together.

Unless you have capitol gains/losses , mortgage, 1040k, stuff like that just use Tele file or something..
Or taxcut - its very helpfull, steps you through the whole process..

Via Shreader ?

You can only use Telefile for very simple tax returns. If you take part in stock trading or dividend earning mutual funds or want to itemize your deductions then you have to fill out the forms.
Hiring an accountant seems like a waste of money unless you\'re a poorly organized day trader or an estate owner.

Use turbo tax then if you aren\'t ready for an accountant. I used that for several years. Very easy to use and you can e-file with it I think.
